We could all use a little more peace and a little less greed.
I am envisioning a peaceful co-existence of wild mustangs, sage grouse, and campers awaiting the dawn to view a wild herd for the first time. They are on rented horses that have done this trip many times with different humans. The rent supports the horses and the human families they belong to. The “guide” too makes his living from these “mustang watching” tours. The closest towns also benefit from the tourists eager to spot the elusive mustangs. There are bed & breakfasts, gift shops, restaraunts, and annual festivals – all in honor of our majestic wild American herds. Sign me up! I need a vacation and can’t think of anything I’d rather do.
I Just wanted to thank Willie for standing up for the horses in this country and for helping to save them from such a horrible fate in slaughter houses. They are such a greatpart of American history
and also founders of this once proud land.

I have always been a fan of Willie Nelson’s music ever since I was a little girl sitting with my daddy listening to the tunes. As I grew older, I became more aware of the many causes that he supports. The establishment of peace is one that I hold near and dear. After reading the article in the Parade Magazine, I had to come and check out the cause. As a Montessori educator it is my job to teach peace and conflict resolution through communication to my students. It is very refreshing to see that institutions such as this one are working towards that same goal. I’m going to keep on working on establishing peace and eradicating prejudice in my small southern town. I’m sad to say but that is still hard to do even this day in time.

hello out there I am ( the dude ) here to say this really is one of the biggest decisions our country has to make all over again in it’s history !, because of corporate America, bad sadistic politicians,the corrupt eugenically ideologically controlled education systems, and not without “adieu” unfortunately the general misguided uneducated public witch is getting worse by the day, as they drowned us with lies, lies, lies,fast,& fast these days and they worm their way into our lives and pockets, and give us the same bull, and nothing really important gets done in our country, and we go pick fights for this or that, and really don’t know what the hell its about in the first place!, this all needs to stop. and we all need to take a deep breath and get to work on fixing this mess together, if not oh boy are we in for a rude awakening people and not a smooth one ya feelin me !. cannabis sativa & hemp and other non-GMO foods, are and need to be the foundation of our food science, and our basic things in our daily needs, IE clothes, shoes, foods, textiles, medical use, oils, and the list goes on and on. why are we fighting ?, We the people are not !, the corporations are to fool you into believing what they want you to believe, about what ever they want really ! and they seem to be doing a dame good job of it, look outside and every where you go all the bull and symbolism around, those are beliefs not just pictures, those are agendas not just a neat picture for their company logo !, those are their ideals and they want you to live & believe & abide by them, it is control for them and not by us as the constitution states by the people for the people!
so I urge you to think hard and deep use common sense thinking about how you feel and what you feel you know, and if there is any doubt about what you think & your facts & views on any subject research it more as best you can because if you don’t, you don’t just doom you, you will doom others to repeat the same mistakes because we need to learn from them not repeat them, so go out and do unto others as you would have them do unto you!

The peace of justice in this country begins with our relationship to the Indigenous people and the land they cooperated with for many centuries before the white invasion and genocide; a genocide and gross injustice worst by far in the USA, with Argentina a distant second. A model of complete reparations and restoration, a justice that lifts up all Indigenous people in the USA, not just a few owners of casinos, to the highest place possible must occur. The reservations might work if it were not for the conspicuous white on Indigenous crimes of violence and rape and theft. The reservations might work if the USA invested more than a pittance in making them work, if the USA honored its treaties with the Indigenous, the Indigenous who, for centuries, have shown us the way to a sustainable future. The reservations will work at long last when America wakes up to the gross injustice, gross inequality, gross crime of our gross lies to and betrayal of the Indigenous. The environmental racism, the dumps of toxic waste and toxic mining practices on Indigenous lands must stop ASAP; ASAP reparations must reverse this criminal practice against humanity. I think that given the opportunity, which is where Willie enters stage left, OP TUNE IT TEE: a golf, music and pow wow classic benefit (conspicuous to the max) for Indigenous America with Willie tuning up our consciousness. As someone who weighed 400 pounds since about the age of 13 and have lost 160 pounds over the past couple of years;I am now 59; I know that physical, mental and spiritual health go hand in hand. You can not have one without the other. All of the good food in the world can be at your fingertips but you will not choose it unless you are working holistically on yourself.
Also I know to be truly healthy, physically, spiritually and mentally, you have to want that health not only for yourself but for all. Only then will we truly be one in Peace. That is why I love Willie so much!!! He gets it.

Please help. I am at my wits end. I was busted in Mississippi for growing my own medical pot in my own house. Yes, that was a stupid thing to do in that place. But that’s where I was living by my children and it had been my home for 27 years. Long story short as possible…first I love America. I struggled with alcohol addiction and panic disorder for most of my adult life. I got sober for good and then used pot with fantastic results…life was awesome again. Now I’m facing 60 years in prison. I owe the bondsman and my attorney big time and lately the thought of the impending doom has made it impossible to enjoy any moment and to work to pay those people for my last bit of freedom. Please let me tell you my story. Following is my last email to my therapist. I think it pretty much sums up my situation.
Absurdity
At the Wheeling Coffee shop…what an awesome place. The coffee is superb, roasted right here. Caffeine, it’s legal and a drug we use for its stimulating effects….widely accepted as O.K…..
Through the window can see the Wheeling Visitor Center, The Wheeling Artesian Center, the civic center, and the hills of Belmont County in the background. Also in the background is the music of America, the band America. The song is Woodstock. Yes they were smoking pot when they wrote the song…admittedly. Also in the background are the conversations of the drug users (coffee drinkers). Awesome great Americans they are…….booth the coffee drinkers and the pot smoking singers on the radio. And they accept each other. Yet I’m going to prison…absurd.
I was flipping through the WV Living magazine…..so, so many great things to do and see in this state and all of the others as well. The United States of America, what a grand idea…..a country that celebrates our diverse cultures, natural recourses, and the freedom to enjoy. (For the most part at least…I think).
Unlike some Americans I know who focus constantly with what is “wrong” with what they see as a “messed-up” place, I see all of the awesome greatness of what a truly wonderful place we are blessed to be part of. And it is these people who want me to suffer in prison because they believe I am a part of their so called “problems”. How fucking absurd.
Absurd, that is the word that fills my conciseness lately…..absurd that I am going to be sent to prison for a long long time because I enjoy smoking pot. It is a big part of me and something I used in my long journey from the old life with pessimism and regret to appreciation and hope. Did it play a role in that journey?….I think so. Did it delay or shorten the journey? I am positive it hastened my arrival. You might say I would have gotten there anyhow…..so….what’s your point. Also as instrumental were a few acid trips where the meaning of life was discovered. Ha, put that in your pipe and smoke it!
Pot users are a minority part of America. The scared fearful ignorant Americans who feel pot is a horrible bad thing and that pot users should be punished are also a minority of our population. A majority part of the USA believes pot is OK. Even leaving out the users as part of my survey, still the majority thinks it’s OK. It’s absurd that we still let those few put good pot smoking Americans in jail.
By growing pot in my house I was doing a great community service. How? Simply by not buying my pot from the black market drug dealers….then I was not contributing to the bad people who use profits from pot sales to pursue the more lucrative drug markets of crack, heroine, pills, and crystal…..the drugs that are a big part of death, violence, and crime. I vowed never again to enable the thugs in the hood, the parents using their children’s food stamps to by crack, and the murderous Mexican drug cartels. Yes I was doing a good thing….a concerned citizen…that’s me. Calling me the bad guy is absurd.
It is also absurd that I would choose to do this knowing the consequences of being caught. I ain’t dumb and I do respect our laws….the ones I broke are just stupid. But I did it. As with everything I do I studied it and did it the best I could. In excess…yes that’s me. Was anyone hurt?….no just the opposite.
I was so caught up in the greatness of life I couldn’t imagine anyone wanting to punish me for having a good time. But that’s what it came down to….pure jealously. I went from being a raging alcoholic regressing spiritually, to growing. After a lifetime of using every type of crazy pharmaceutical medication to combat anxiety and panic I was using a completely safe medication that pretty much cured these ails….pot….absurd that anyone would want to see me suffer. I went from being dependent on government disability to enjoying working, going to school, and in line for a teaching job…my passion, and self supportive. It’s absurd that I was doing something “wrong”.
Everyone was like, “Wow Ward you’re doing so great and you look so good.” My narc friends who knew me in my drinking were also proud of my healthy soberness. They also knew I was a pot smoker and would always say, “We don’t care about old pot heads like you. We’re after the bad guys.” I think my pride in my health and these praises were a major contributing factor to my choosing to break the law by growing and using pot. Absurd.
It’s absurd that these prosecutors want to see me suffer in prison. Why? I don’t get it. I understand they really like the feeling of putting someone away that would endanger their world. But I’m not that person. I think they are vindictive maybe. But again I never did anything to provoke revenge. Revenge because I’m enjoying this super awesome experience here on earth? Absurd.
Their goal is to punish me by making it impossible for me to enjoy life. Well, it’s already working. Deep depression associated with the impending doom has set in. My spiritual helper keeps saying I need to work on “living in the moment” and enjoy the things that are here and now. I was doing a pretty good job of it but now it’s becoming impossible to get there. The ironic part, if I understand what irony is, is that the reason I’m having such a difficult time enjoying the moment is that I enjoy this world and it people so much. Every time I start to enjoy the moment, which happens constantly, the reality of knowing all of this is coming to an end soon feels like the big bad grim reaper punches me in the chest, slaps me in the face and says, “What are you so happy about you stupid mother fucker! All your stupid happiness is ending soon and you’re really going to pay for your stupid serenity…you stupid mother fucker!” Or at least something like that…….it’s working they’re winning.
Yesterday I did all of the things prescribed to help get me back into the moment. I participated in the things I really enjoy. I went on a photo shoot to capture all of the awesome fall colors. I struck up conversations with complete strangers, super people. I talked with family, helped my ill mother, had two hours of strenuous exercise while playing with my nephew, filled out a job application, wrote to a friend, and participated in an open mic acoustic night at a really cool coffee shop with some really cool people. Every moment of enjoyment was immediately followed by the arrival of the grim reaper. The fact is that if I didn’t enjoy life so much, the future doom wouldn’t suck so much.
I feel putrid. I’m really funny too. I still crack me up all of the time. Absurd.

I am planning a sculpture which has Willie’s song, “Whatever Happened to Peace on Earth” and would like to use the Utube version with the lyrics scrolling as Willie sings in the piece. the viewer would press the start button and a small DVD player would play his song. I have not been able to find who I need to talk to about getting permission to do so. I have worked with Willie on some farm issues and biodiesel issues but have lost touch because I usually contact him through Carl Cornelius. Since Carl’s corner is no longer, I have lost his contact info also. If you could help, I would greatly appreciate it.
