Hear Willie sing ”A Peaceful Solution” Jazz style. MP3 file format

Willie Nelson is at it again. First, Willie Nelson gave us “A Peaceful Solution” a cappella. Then, Willie Nelson gave us “A Peaceful Solution” Reggae style.

Now, Willie Nelson gives us “A Peaceful Solution” Jazz style.

I wish I had the liner notes on this one. Besides Willie Nelson’s signature vocals with his unique phrasing this version showcases some fine instrumental work. Dancing guitar stylings, at least one violin among the strings, sounds like a woodwind (a clarinet maybe) and a kicking rhythm section puts a classic jazz sound behind this one.

There has to be someone out there that can do a better job of identifying the instruments.

It reminds me of some of the classic jazz sounds out of the 1920s. But then again it could have come out of any musical era since then. The feel of this version is at once contemporary and classic at the same time.

There has to be someone out there that can do justice to this version with a killer video.

I’ve been listening to it over and over. It makes me want to get up and dance. Check it out. Close your eyes. Can’t you just see a dance floor full of flappers and zoot suits?

Of course this is all for your benefit. This is part of the ““A Peaceful Solution” video contest project. This is the song that Willie Nelson is allowing you to use license free in your next peace video.

Send us the link and we will embed the video here.

We’ll give your work a fine review and links back to your site. That’s right, you also get an attribution credit along with a showcase article right here on the Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute web site.

Can you listen to this without smiling?

This has to be the happiest version yet. Of course you can try your hand at recording your own happy version. Even it you have already done a version, take another shot at it. After all, Willie Nelson has now done three unique versions; surely someone else can do a second one.

We will feature all versions here.

So, to date we have eleven versions. Eight versions, each unique in its own way, by eight different artists are in addition to the three versions by Willie Nelson. You can hear them all here. We have links to the files on the same article that provides the lyrics, the “A Peaceful Solution”song page.

Have you done a video yet?

If not, I can’t understand what you are waiting for.

Do we need to do a post about using Windows Movie Maker? Do we need to do a post about how to download an mp3 file from this site?

Tell us what you need.

We are not asking you to sign any petitions. We are not asking you to confront anyone. We are not asking you to march down the street waving signs. We are not asking you to stand up and scream. We are only asking you to have fun.

We are only asking you to make a little art.

That’s right; just do something for peace in a peaceful way. You can even have some fun while you do it. Get featured on this web site.

Search the Internet for free images. Please do not infringe on anyone’s copyright. Or fire up a graphics program and make some images. Or take some pictures. Or shoot some video.

Making images is easy.

Combine the images of your choice with one of the versions of “A Peaceful Solution” and you automatically have a winner.

All contestants are winners in this contest.

Everyone gets featured. Everyone gets written up. Everyone gets links.

Hi all… thanks for the positive buzz on this track. I’m the bassist on this recording, which is part of a larger collaboration with Willie and our group Gypsy Pacific. We’ve recorded a bunch of tracks together, and will continue work on the CD over the next few months.

Working with Willie has been a real pleasure, and it’s a real honor for me to be included on this particular track. Regarding the instrumentation, it’s Tom Conway on lead guitar, Willy Wainwright on violin, Phil Benoit on rhythm guitar, David Choy on soprano saxophone, and me on acoustic bass.

The reggae track, BTW, is performed by our friend Marty Dread, who is a dynamic performer and not to missed. All of us make our homes here on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawai’i, USA.

    Peace and Aloha, Marcus Johnson

    Aloha,
This version has a “timeless” quality with a great classic groove- I am lucky enough to watch this band on a regular basis in a location that includes tropical breezes and unbelievable sunsets- Willie is a wise man who picked a great group to back him in an honorable effort to wake this country up-
thank you Willie Nelson and Gypsy Pacific
    Aloha,
    Frank

  5. This song was made for gypsy jazz and gypsy jazz was made for Willie Nelson. The great part about it is that gypsy jazz, made famous by Django Reinhardt in the 30s, will be a new sound to Willie Nelson fans. Gypsy jazz’ origin is mostly France and there it’s called “Jazz Manouche” (cool?). Think Guitar as the drums driving that must-stomp-my-foot beat and lay back and enjoy. That is, If you can lay back and stomp your foot at the same time.

I predict that Willie Nelson is going to record a huge album with this Maui based group and it’s going to blow the world away.

    Stay tuned.
