A Peaceful Solution song contest has become a great success. A very diverse group of creative people committed to creating peace through art generously share their heart, soul and talents to convey a powerful message.
Within this beautiful diversity we all share a common dream, Peace.
May we offer you a unique opportunity to listen to thirteen variations of A Peaceful Solution back to back? We do this daily and find the tunes stand strongly on their own and make a tasty compilation that never ceases to give us enjoyment and pause for thoughtful contemplation.
Listen for yourself and tell me if you think it would make a cool CD?
We often receive email from musicians who ask for chord charts. We resist dictating the structure because we don’t want to put limits on your creativity. We hope this lack of authoritarian dictate will illustrate peace requires self-determination and creative personal decisions.
A peaceful world does not need top down management.
A peaceful harmonious world needs highly motivated and creative individuals. Populations of empowered aware individuals, who make their own decisions, take responsibility for their choices and follow through on commitments without needing approval from anyone will usher in a new reality.
Music offers a perfect metaphor to dialog about realizing harmony in our world.
You might consider that the contest represents an allegory. Using this contest model as an experiment we explore ideas about creating peace. Willie Nelson’s first step in this art for peace experiment began by sharing his creative work with no strings attached.
Peace requires generosity.
Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute provides the platform for a massive worldwide creative collaboration. Everyone wins. Subjective judgment regarding the quality of your work has no value. If you submit your creation, we feature you and your work.
Peace requires full participation with equal benefits for all.
The contest draws people who resonate with the lyrics and allows peaceful committed individuals a platform to exercise their voice and power. Realizing not everyone can or will make their own song Willie Nelson decided to expand the contest to encourage other folks to participate.
Write lyrics for A Peaceful Solution to express your ideas.
Feel free to alter the lyrics or just rewrite the whole song to express your heart’s earnings for peace, freedom, liberty, human rights or whatever issue you feel strongly about which in your opinion needs to get attention.
Your ideas deserve a platform for expression.
And of course we offer yet another way for you to participate. Take any soundtrack and make a video. Willie Nelson has given you three versions already and we have 13 other mp3 files. So you can choose any of the 16 different mp3 files for your soundtrack.
Act right now and exercise your creativity and intention for peace.
The Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute intends to continue to offer a safe environment where everyone feels welcome. We encourage you to help us design experiments in peacemaking. We honor all our sisters and brothers and express our gratitude for the great diversity and talent present in the world right now.
Please send us your lyrics, songs and videos today.
