Carbon from the carbon cycle is a closed system that doesn’t contribute to the greenhouse effect. CO2 from the air is absorbed by plants then as it decays CO2 is released back into the atmosphere. This includes plants in the ocean and plants on land.
Digging up coal and oil from 350 million years ago and burning it as fuel puts lots of carbon into the system that hasn’t been there for a very long time. This is the huge impact of human activities.
Peak Oil is the term created to designate the point in time that an oil field or global oil reserves peak out, after which there is an inevitable decline in production. The mathematics has been proven correct for one oil field after another.
According to the charts world capacity has recently peaked out. There is wide spread belief among oil companies and political leaders this is true. So our leaders decided to fight over what’s left rather than invest in alternatives.
The thing that got Osama going was United States military presence in the Middle East. The United States has been keeping military forces there ever since the British moved out. For the first time in United States history both the President and the Vice President are from the oil industry.
The main issue attached to the recent military spending bill is the benchmark of the Iraqi people signing over their oil. The United States is there for the oil. Make no mistake about that. The Global War on Terror (GWOT) is intimately connected to Global Warming.
Our leaders have decided to make a lot of money selling the last of the oil rather than invest in alternatives. And they are willing to spend a lot of money to gain control and keep it. This is money not spent on alternate renewable energy sources or social programs.
The United States government has decided to spend its tax dollars fighting people for their oil while under funding research on Global Warming. This decision has created the blowback effect of terrorism directed toward the United States.
The major issues of the day are all interconnected. Forward thinking people are investing in renewable energy alternatives to oil. We will need them sooner or later. The sooner we get them the better the chances we can reduce military spending.
The money saved can be spent on developing biofuels on family farms. The money can be spent on social programs. The money can be spent on solving problems rather than creating problems.
