My sister Alice sent me these pictures today of her first grandchild who is also the first grandchild in the family clan. And because there can be only one redheaded stranger I introduce Miss Lilly, daughter of Amy and Erin, to the world. Seeing these pictures this morning brought the urgency of world peace closer to home.
What kind of world will the babies inherit?

Every second new innocent, helpless infants come into this world totally dependent on us for their very survival. It doesn’t matter what country the baby comes from or the color of the babies skin or the religion of the parents or any other difference we might recognize. Every baby possesses deep divine beauty. All babies are good.
We need a vision that connects all of us.
What is it that connects us? As human beings sharing one world, we all breathe the same air. We all want to be happy. We all want to be free from suffering. We all want to be free to celebrate the day however we wish. We all want only the best for all the people we love. We all want to enjoy and delight in this life. Do you think this is true?
We all share deep human longings for life.
We are taught to recognize differences in people and compare ourselves to others. By emphasizing the differences we create separation. Separation creates conflict. If we shift our perspective to find the intrinsic good and high beauty in all things, in ourselves and in those around us we can learn to get along with each other.
Harmony creates Peace.
Once we unite in a vision that connects all of us a heartfelt understanding arises. Through mutual understanding a deeper compassion flourishes. We celebrate the diversity of life and glorify all that is within every human being. We learn how to live in ways that enhance life and affirm the goodness of all life. We live a life where our wish and prayer is that all beings are fulfilled in their highest longing.
Compassion for others brings inner peace.
Then the world we create will be something we are proud to leave to all the children of the world.

I share your sentiments. As the old ones we should always make sure that the world is always a better place to live in for the younger ones. Just like preparing the house for a coming visitor, we should also work hand in hand to prepare the Earth for the coming generations.
Our national hero said that the youth is the hope of our country. So as the old ones we should show our support to them by making things well for them.
