Hear “A Peaceful Solution” by Mountaindawg

Joe “Jodawg” Johnson, AKA Mountaindawg left a comment on the Willie Nelson Peace Video Contest post. We do our best to keep up with all the comments and are very glad we caught this one.

Joe “Jodawg” Johnson wrote, “Powerful words. I saw this earlier this week for the first time, when you posted the article about Alan Moore, Butterflies, and the Musicians & Fine Artists for Peace. I immediately was inspired to make my own version. I took it to the recording studio last night.”

And he left a link to Mountaindawg’s version of “A Peaceful Solution”.

If you haven’t clicked a link yet to hear it then all I have to say is, “What are you waiting for?” The vocals, arraignment and performance prove that Mountaindawg‘s trademark phrase “Heartfelt Rock ‘n’ Roll” is no empty promise.

Mountaindawg‘s version is big, bold and beautiful. Joe “Jodawg” Johnson makes it sound like “A Peaceful Solution” belongs in the coastal mountains of Northern California. That really shouldn’t come as a surprise because that is where Mountaindawg‘s home is.

Guerneville (pronounced Gurn-ville only tourists say Gur-nee-ville) is a town in the scenic Russian River Valley. This is Redwood country. Mountaindawg‘s sound reminds me of mountains, rivers and big trees.

One of the best things about this contest project is how each musician not only personalizes “A Peaceful Solution” but also localizes it to their environment. I’m keeping a play list and love to hear all the versions back to back. Hearing the different versions takes me on a musical tour of not only the United States but also across the Atlantic to Europe.

Jodawg‘s mission is sharing heartfelt messages of Love, Peace, and Freedom through his original Mtndawg music. We are very glad he has spent the time and energy to record his version of “A Peaceful Solution.” As both the band leader and an accomplished solo performer, Jodawg has a lot to contribute musically.

Joe “Jodawg” Johnson is a singer, songwriter, musician and artist. He has been playing and composing his own music since he was 16 years old. His current project includes him playing Electric & Acoustic Guitars, Mandolin, Resonator (similar to a DoBro) and singing Vocals, in addition to playing some keyboards and percussions once in awhile. Jodawg‘s moving music has a way of touching people, spreading smiles.

Joe “Jodawg” Johnson wrote, “Thank you for this chance to help spread a meaningful message through the power of SONG. Music is the universal language.”

Thank you, Joe “Jodawg” Johnson for sharing your version of A Peaceful Solution.

When you do this, it makes me believe again, since all the other popular musicians are scared to speak out. They need to give us that. I think that the record companies have had musicians sign away their rights to free speech.

    You give me hope.
    WE need a music revolution!
