Are you ready to step out? Are you ready to play? How long are you going to wait?
You have ideas. You read. You watch. You surf the Internet. You have tools. You can make a difference. You can make a statement. You can make art. You can get to work. Isn’t now a good time?
Well, it better be.
John Lennon is dead already. Gilles Deleuze is dead already. Terence McKenna is dead already. Judi Bari is dead already. They are not going to do it for you. They are not going to save you. You are going to have to do it yourself. You are going to have to save yourself.
Who else needs to die before you think it is time for you to play?
It is not that I’m trying to be an alarmist. I’m trying to be an alarm clock. Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!
Are you tired of the bad dream yet? A bad dream will make you tired. You don’t need more sleep. Get out of the bed. Get to work. You will not be tired any longer. You will become refreshed. The work will refresh you. Being awake will increase your energy. Being awake will revitalize you.
You will no longer need to sleep.
Just think for a moment. Think about those you admire. Think about what those you admire have told you.
Now stop thinking.
Now act.
You know violence is not the way. You know that all people are in your family. You know you must live in harmony with the planet and all the other life forms on it.
Stop acting as if the lies are believable. Stop acting as if compromises with the truth will yield truth. Stop acting as if war will ever bring peace. Stop acting as if exploitation is sustainable.
If you want peace, sow peace.
No attacking required. No one needs to resist. Conflict is unnecessary. You already know none of that will bring peace.
Just be peaceful. Then let other people know. That is all.
Make art.
You can do it. You don’t have to do it all by yourself. There are plenty of people who want to make art too. There are many collaborators waiting for you to wake up, come out and play.
Like we are waiting for you.
You can make a video. I know you can because you have access to a computer. You must because you are reading this. Tricky, aren’t I?
You don’t even need to make a sound track if you don’t want to. We have one for you! And it comes in different flavors. Listen to them, save one to your computer and create or find images to put with it.
Upload it to YouTube. It’s free and it’s easy. Then tell us about it.
