3 Types Of Articles About You
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Willie Nelson originally offered an a cappella version of “A Peaceful Solution” free and without licensing restrictions for anyone to use in making a video. If you get involved in the “A Peaceful Solution” project we will write an article about you.
Amy Nelson, Willie Nelson’s daughter, suggested the idea for “A Peaceful Solution.”
Willie Nelson liked the idea, wrote the song with Amy’s help then recorded the first version April 29th, 2007 at 3:03am on the bus to The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly known as Coachella).
Coachella has evolved into an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California. Willie Nelson played on the third day of this festival.
Willie Nelson later produced both a Reggae version and a Jazz version of “A Peaceful Solution” for the same purpose.
Not unexpectedly, more artists created audio only versions of “A Peaceful Solution” than created video versions. I get into that a little later on. However, this resulted in many more soundtracks becoming available for video production.
Video producers responded.
We posted all the videos and wrote articles about the artists who made them. All we have asked is that the videos be posted to YouTube or a similar video hosting site and the link sent to us.
The embed code is then used to show the video in the article.
Of course, we ask that each artist provide biographical information for us to use. We also allow each artist to submit a personal statement.
In addition, we visit the artist’s website(s) and glean what information we can from Internet searches. All of this becomes source material for the article.
Articles include links back to the artist’s website(s).
If we make any mistakes or omissions in the article we promptly correct them upon being told. We make it a point of being easy to work with. After all, we are part of the “A Peaceful Solution” project too.
Everyone has liked his or her article so far.
Personally, I am very disappointed with Microsoft’s Windows Movie Maker software. Online reviews of this product tend to support my low opinion. However, at least one video maker has been able to make “A Peaceful Solution” video with it.
Another video artist is very happy with Vegas Movie Studio software by Sony. Sony offers Vegas Movie Studio software for under $80.
No one else has told us what they used otherwise we would have told you.
As I mentioned above, more artists created audio versions of “A Peaceful Solution” than created video versions. There could be a couple of reasons for this.
There may be more musicians than videographers online.
Of course, since Willie Nelson is primarily known as a musician, this may have something to do with it.
And it requires less from a computer to make music than to make video.
All of this contributing to the case, we have also welcomed submissions of audio versions of “A Peaceful Solution” as well. We accept the mp3 file format only for now. We may accept the Ogg Vorbis file format in the future. But no one has asked us to accept it.
This is more work for us. But that is OK.
Instead of just grabbing the embed code, we need to download the audio file to our computers. Then we upload the file to the Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute server.
After this downloading and uploading process we create the code for the file. Then we write the article about the artist.
We put just as much into articles about musicians as articles about videographers.
Every musician has recorded “A Peaceful Solution” in his or her own style. And while doing so, a few lyrics were replaced, deleted or added.
This has been all good.
Willie Nelson, Liz and I were hoping for this. As a result, a few musicians wanted to make even more changes to the song.
Willie Nelson said, “OK, do it.”
Now we have opened up “A Peaceful Solution” project to songwriters. Send us your version of “A Peaceful Solution” and we will publish it in an article and write about you.
There you have it. Three ways to have us write an article about you complete with an artist’s statement and links going back to your website(s).
