Sundaegirl created this happy animated video with Willie Nelson’s A Peaceful Solution Jazz version. Now we have a new category of video, animation. Thank you, Sundaegirl!

Of course, after seeing this one I had to watch her other videos. Besides seeing some great stuff I also watched her evolution as an animator. I hope other people find this empowering. It is awesome to see an artist start from simple short pieces and grow into more complex longer pieces.

What blows me away is that she makes individual images in Photoshop then builds the animation in Windows Movie Maker.

These are so much fun and demonstrate a great sense of humor.

I love the chocolate plug.

That is perhaps the most important thing, that we can all enjoy chocolate in peace. This makes me think about all the simple things that bring joy to a life and how they are best when experienced in peace. Thank you for all your videos.

You ask some difficult questions, and I am no orator. I don’t even think I am an artist, although that is of course subjective. If bringing joy to strangers is an aspect of art, then perhaps my little animations count on the lower scale; but I would not be so presumptuous.

What I think I DID do with my stuff, and is relevant, is to take some perceptions and change them a little. I took some officially “sad songs” and gave them some humor without, I hope, mocking them. I have had many messages confirming that this worked, and they are so very heartwarming.

And isn’t that a major factor in your work? Changing perceptions, lateral thinking. Getting people to take a step back and re-asses what is the ‘norm’. There are different, and sometimes better ways of doing things.

But then, like all humans I am full of contradictions. I confess I do little for the “world”. But then, I do try to do a little for “my world”. Through my animations I attempt to raise a smile; get people to share them, laugh together. I also do some charity work, and try to get others involved. It isn’t much; but it isn’t nothing either.

Perhaps if we all did a little bit, we would start to make strides toward a better place all round.
