Lukas Nelson and The Promise of the Real psychedelicizes their version of “A Peaceful Solution” during their live performances. Their electric rock ‘n’ roll creates anew a sound long identified with the revolutionary 60s and the alternatives that gained mainstream notice at that time.
The tight and tasty licks and riffs seemed to invoke every classic electric rock ‘n’ roll standard in the book without becoming a parody or predictable. Lukas Nelson and The Promise of the Real succeed in carrying the genre forward while creating their own sound.
The wave of change that rolled out of the 60s seems like a distant dream to some but in many ways that wave has gained momentum. Change will happen, not because someone said so on television but because We The People demand it.
Peace comes to the forefront almost every day now while unilateral aggression and other acts of violence find fewer willing participants and less tolerance from people around the world. From one day to the next it may seem that little changes but across the decades the peace movement has grown and grown.
Lukas Nelson and The Promise of the Real surf that wave of change both reminding us of its roots and bringing it to contemporary attention. We were unified and supported by the music then and Lukas Nelson and The Promise of the Real do their part in continuing that support by performing great music that we can all agree with today.
Lukas Nelson and The Promise of the Real
Lukas Nelson does some great guitar work on this piece. His intro is really cool too. He dynamically and colorfully blends quite a few influences into a new original sound. Very elegant. Fresh rock and roll.
Micah Nelson also creates fantastic visual art with a psychedelic flavor, a perfect compliment to the band he is part of.

Lukas Nelson writes, “I would only like to say that we work for love.
“…art is love. Love is peace.
“I play music for love and peace.”

Lukas, you are by far the greatest talent I’ve seen in a long time! I was especially inspired by seeing your, “flying splits rif” at the Santa Monica pier concert. Quite amusing!
Micah, I haven’t seen a stick drummer play by hand since Frosty of the, “Lee Michaels Band” back in the 60’s, when his hands bled from playing. Excellent!
You guys are an extraordinary experience for an audience’s arduous quest for pleasure. I loved the Hi-Ho mike for the crowds song-participation inclusion!
Have good luck, great music & successful careers.

Took my wife to see Willie at the Bell auditorium in Augusta GA last night and was not expecting to be blown away by his son. We too are disappointed that we didn’t buy your CD there but have found it on your site. Here’s the link for anyone else interested. http://www.promiseofthereal.com/media.php
My wife has all his albums.
Great show last night. Could have watched you play all night long. Oh and your Dad wasn’t bad either
You’ve got a great future and we will be along for the ride.
