Hear ”A Peaceful Solution” by Charlie Martin Fugate and Todd Samm

Charlie and Todd gives us a classic southern rock ballad style of Willie Nelson’s and Amy Nelson’s A Peaceful Solution. You know these boys hail from the south and carry that classic style in their heart.

The tempo moves right along but doesn’t give you whiplash. You have lots of time to groove to the rhythm. Charlie makes sure you get a chance to hear all the lyrics and gives you time to think about them during the lead breaks.

Lots of emotion comes through the vocals communicating Charlie’s strong belief and commitment to the meaning of A Peaceful Solution. Charlie’s vocals present a self portrait as he reveals strong emotional feelings about what he sings.

The Power Mongers of this nation as well as others are like Slumlords who suck what profits they can from everything and everyone around them for as long as they can and then, worry about the repercussions from it. Our Nation (and I say this addressing all Americans) needs to open its eyes before it’s too late. We need to address our problems, find answers to the actual problems. Not just cover them up with a temporary solution.

We had an opportunity back in the 70’s when President Carter suggested we find alternative Energy sources, such as Solar energy, Wind, Water, Nuclear, Hydrogen etc. and we seemed to have missed the boat.

Willie Nelson when he and Amy wrote the lyrics to A Peaceful Solution hit the nail right on the head in the statement “so we don’t have to do it again” Because that’s exactly what we are doing. If we had addressed these problems as well as others then and adopted a policy towards the solutions, we would not have the problems we face today with Energy, natural resources, Poverty or our Environment.

We can make changes it’s not too late, we can do this by taking back control of our great nation from the financially motivated Politicians and electing some one with a little good common sense and a real brain for a change.

We can elect someone who will serve all Americans equally not just the rich and powerful and adopting better foreign policy, better environmental policy and a better energy policy as well as addressing social issues. We can do this by stopping our dependency on foreign goods and foreign Oil, and bringing back real jobs to this nation.

Alone we are powerless but by banding together in art, music, charity, and voice we can make a difference. My hopes and dreams are that we can change this world so our children and grandchildren will never have to live in fear from terrorism, oppression, starvation, or God forbid Annihilation from mother earth her self. That we can live smart and have a Peace on this earth as God intended in the beginning.

As a final note, as I set here, I realize how valuable friendship is in this world of so much uncertainty, we as a nation are blessed with the freedom we have to choose our friends freely, being alone in this world to face the problems that plague our society is a horrid thought.

Reach out, talk with people make new friends pull together and let’s cure these problems and let’s find A Peaceful Solution as well as friendship in this world we live in.

I just hope what little we have been able to do, makes the difference in at least one person, and if so, then its all been worth while to me, … I’m proud just to have been added to the list of names for this cause and to even be associated with you all…

all my life, I have worked and put my heart and soul into my music, to try and be heard, to be a part of something. This has now been the Highlight of my life behind the Birth of my Children…it makes me very proud.
