Hear ”A Peaceful Solution” by Dennis Totty

Dennis Totty breaks new ground here at Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute by submitting his excellent rendition of Willie Nelson’s and Amy Nelson’s A Peaceful Solution in a genre we’ve yet to showcase.

For all you folks who lived through the sixties or for all you folks who wish you had lived through the sixties, Dennis gives us his hard rock version of A Peaceful Solution. This song makes you want to get up and dance for peace.

Dennis Totty’s arrangement of A Peaceful Solution pays homage to the classic British hard rock style with the signature electric lead guitar solo, riffs and fills in conjunction with the electric bass delineating the harmony while the drums maintain the solid rhythm. By adding the piano with a tasty lead, Dennis gives us the full spectrum of the hard rock style.

Along with his strong voice, Dennis’s vocals possess unique phrasing as he pauses dynamically and allows the desire for the next lyric to build. Dennis Totty brings high production values to his music and gives us all an exciting new version of A Peaceful Solution.

I’m a guitarist/songwriter from Tulsa, Ok. Played in the group TOTTY. Lived in L.A., Vail, Colo., San Diego, Ca. Been back in Tulsa for years. Recently trying to restart up my music career, looking for representation, and Publishing deals.

1.Why are you passionate about creating peace?

I LOVE music.

Been playing all my life, coming from a musical family.

Music is the GREAT communicator of ALL things.

Music is the Key to Peaceful Solutions…

2. How long have you’ve been working for peace?

Ever since I was young. Playing music, I had friends on both sides of the tracks, and many times my music brought them together also.

3.What motivates you to work for peace and the environment?

I got to say the HOLY SPIRIT.

4. Why have you chosen the path of arts for peace?

Because people are open to influence thru music. If you capture them by the music, then they will start listening to what you sing about also.

5. What are your ideas for peaceful solutions?

Freedom…Freedom doesn’t have borderlines. Freedom doesn’t cost anything to have…. Freedom can be had by anyone at anytime…Freedom is found ONLY thru JESUS CHRIST. I DON’T mean the Jesus that is in those corrupted church houses. I mean Spiritual Freedom thru Paul’s Gospel of JESUS CHRIST. The Believers being the CHURCH, No head office here on earth…FREEDOM…the only way.
