Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute has the privilege of featuring A Peaceful Solution video by Georgia Callahan, another active member of the Un-Scared collective. Georgia has sent the sequel video to A Peaceful Solution The UnScared which we featured last week.

Georgia Callahan wants to remind you that the thought of peace shouldn’t cause any fear in your life. Yes, we have not grown up with peace. Yes, every generation has experienced war for as long as we have had history. Yes, peace seems new and scary because we don’t know what it feels like to live a life in peace.

Breathe and Relax. No one can make you have peace if you don’t want it.

War has become the known and often we humans get stuck in ruts not wanting to change even if we hate what we experience and complain continuously. We become comfortable in our misery because we know all about it.

No surprises that might necessitate us coming up with a solution. We can go back to sleep and feel justified in our woes. We feel proud to appear as an expert in all things negative.

War functions as the known. Peace functions as the unknown, considered unattainable by many, (not Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute) because to achieve peace we need to change and become different people with different thoughts, attitudes and motives.

Individuals would need to change. Families would need to change. States would need to change. Countries would need to change. Social, Political, Economic, Religious, Technological change would all have to occur for peace to emerge.

Now do you see how scared some people might become?

Does this scare you?

Does it feel like you would have to jump into the abyss without a bungee cord?

Georgia reminds us that we embody the solution.

Which means peace can happen NOW.

Watch her video and decide for yourself what scares you about peace. Then remember love will cure the fear.

Georgia Callahan’s video has lots of hints to achieve a peaceful solution. She gives peaceful ideas and points out areas that need improvement like with free speech, human rights, nuclear policy and civil liberties to name a few. Georgia suggests you look seriously at Dennis Kucinich for President to move us towards a peaceful solution.

Why are you passionate about creating peace?

I believe that if we do not start doing the right thing, collectively, we will perish. I have two small children whom I would love to pass a peaceful world to.

How long have you been working for peace?

As long as I can remember I have carried titles like Hippie, Peacenik…etc.

What motivates you to work for peace and the environment?

The state of affairs that we deal with on a daily basis. I try to imagine a world of peace and justice.

Why have you chosen the path of Art for Peace?

I love the arts. Drawing, Painting, but especially Music and especially WILLIE!

What are your ideas for peaceful solutions?

Diplomacy. Brotherhood of man. Accepting all races, religions, sexualities.

Love is the answer and when we all love one another and look past the differences then we will know peace.
