There is a peaceful solution. It’s called a peace revolution.
Now let’s take back America.
There’s a war and we’re in it, but I know we can win it.
So let’s take back America.
It’s a dream, so believe it.
Now get ready to receive it.
And let’s take back America.
And when the war is over and we’ve won it
let’s remember how we done it so we don’t have to do it again.
There is a peaceful solution. It’s called a peace revolution.
Now let’s take back America.
There’s a war and we’re in it, but I know we can win it.
Now let’s take back America.
There was a peace resolution
and a peaceful revolution
and the peaceful solution saved America

Here’s a little story I wrote, and I’d like to share it with you, Willie. May it inspire you to write yet another beautiful song of peace…
Lady Liberty & the Liberty Bell
The Liberty Bell rang, “why are you deserting me?”
And Lady Liberty replied, “Because there are no more patriots left on this great land.”
“But how will I chime without you?” asked the Bell.
“I cannot tell you my friend. I have welcomed so many new faces and beautiful strangers to this land, but alas, I can no longer stand upon this shore and watch the flame of freedom die,” she replied.
“But I can still ring in the bellfry if only you would send me your gracious spirit,” responded the Bell.
“I would love to send you my spirit my friend, but freedom’s wind, which carried the eagle’s mighty wings, no longer blows in this nation.”
“Please, Lady Liberty, don’t leave me now. You are all I have left,” cried the Liberty Bell.
And then…a tear rolled down her cheek. Her flame grew dim, and she held her head low, “My dear friend, we have stood by for centuries; watching this nation grow. And in her great evolution, this land has seen many a war and many a hero. We have watched as presidents have come and gone, brothers fighting brothers, and mothers losing sons. We have seen children born and nature’s wrath. It has been quite the journey of time,” Lady Liberty paused, “…but, in our time, the flames of freedom and liberty have never succombed to tyranny or greed. Today, as I stand in the horizon, I see a new world where our symbolism no longer matters. We are simply that: symbols of an era past.”
The Liberty Bell let out a little hum, and he said, “…what if Ms. Liberty…” he sighed, “…what if I rang loud and clear so that all the land would hear me? Would you stay here then?”
Lady Liberty lifted her chin and she replied, “Oh how nice it would be to hear your chimes my old friend, but without the wind to carry the eagle’s freedom, how will you find the way?”
And the Liberty Bell said, “We only need one voice to ring out across this land, and the masses will follow…” he paused, “…and their voices will make a joyful noise in this land; and nature will lift its gracious winds to ring freedom everywhere.”
Lady Liberty, inspired by the Liberty Bell’s speech, lifted her torch once again and shone such a bright light, that the people found hope in her once more. And suddenly, she was no longer just an empty symbol. For all at once, her light would lead them to her; and the voices rang loud and clear. And across the states, a chime began to ring low, then louder as the moments drew.
And in an instant, Liberty embraced freedom once again.

JOdawg got to work on that mp3! Thanks for posting my great friend and musical improv collaborator. Such an important message needs to get out to the masses because mainstream media aren’t pushing peace - war sells more I guess. Just last night I saw a TV show here in the Bay Area that said there are less protest songs being made now than there were in the Vietnam era. I don’t think fewer songs are being written, rather they’re not being promoted by major labels. I’ve got a pro-peace song of my own “Killer Go Home” you can hear at myspace.com/artmuserecords - Enjoy…
June 20th, 2007 at 10:05 am
I love when Mother Teresa said, I will never be anti-war. I will only join organizations that are pro-peace. There is power in words. Any time there is a war on anything it only promotes the “anything”. Our focus needs to be only peace. If we can envision the world as a peaceful place full of abundance and a sense of uiversal brotherhood we can have it. This has been promised to us by all the great MASTERS. After all, Love is the most powerful force in the universe. It has the ability to disarm any weapon.
Have a beautiful day. Love to all!

Thank you for the kudos and all the love. I am so excited to see the word spreading, with all these Musicians and Artists anxious to share the message of a peaceful solution. So many different people and places. All this positive artistic energy focused on PEACE. Wow! The whispers of few really are becoming the ROAR of many. The planet is reverberating the message. And now, you have added my good friend, Julies’ lovely melodic version to the growing list. The first “A Peaceful Solution” released by a Woman. Bravo! It feels like a huge collaboration between all of us. SO powerful. Willie Nelson is a genius!

I know you wanted “Peaceful Solution,” Willie. I ain’t tryin’ to say that’s not a good hook, but this is what came to me, so I wrote it:
WE DON’T WANT YOUR WAR NO MORE
Everywhere you turn there’s another war
Nobody knows what most are for
Started by some political hack
Well, I ain’t gonna listen to that no more
No more
We don’t want your war no more!
Learn to love and close the door on war
Learn to love and close the door on war
(Melody Bridge)
The limousines and the private jets
Ain’t slowed down a damn bit yet
Stuffed shirt lobbies that politician
Then they spin it around on television
Next thing you know we’re fightin mad
From the revolution to the desert sand
Meanwhile somewhere back at the ranch
Hyenas laugh while they stack that cash
No more
No more
We don’t want your war no more!
No more
No more
We don’t want your war no more!
Learn to love and close the door on war
Learn to love and close the door on war
Everywhere you turn there’s another war
Nobody knows what most are for
Started by some political hack
Well, I ain’t gonna listen to that no more
No more
No more
We don’t want your war no more!
No more
No more
We don’t want your war no more!
Learn to love and close the door on war
Learn to love and close the door on war
Learn to love and close the door on war
No more
No more
We don’t want your war no more!

Dear Willie, I have read your background. I know that you were brought up in a Christian home
do you honestly think that you can be a part of a peaceful solution via a song about peace. How about a prayer about peace? How about leading all of your friends into a prayer style of life. God is the creator of the World so we need to go to Him when we want something. He is the only one who can bring peace, but is that what we really need?
Maybe God is using the war to bring about His plans for the future of the individual. Dying is not the ultimate. Residing with Jesus Forever, is the Ultimate.
I really appreciate your guitar playing on BostonPete.com. I had never heard of you until 2 years ago when I accidently found George on BostonPete.com. I wrote to him asking what kind of a guitar was it that was playing the introduction to his show. He told me that it was your guitar and that you were playing it. I then, looked for everything that I could find about you.
Here we are with trying to find peace by singing a song that has no real solution. The only solution to anything that happens in our lives is through prayer to the God of the universe. The only true God is The maker of Heaven and Earth. God used His Word, Who is Jesus Christ to form the world and then Jesus Christ became flesh and dwelt among us to show us the way to peace. It is truly Love that will bring peace but Jesus is Love. Everyone needs Jesus in their hearts or there will be no peace in anyone’s heart. If there is no peace in anyone’s heart there will be no peace on Earth. Sincerely Evelyn

The boys we send to fight this war
They want to make us proud
And though we may not agree with fighting
Our pride for them must sing out LOUD
They chose to protect our freedom
But they didn’t choose to fight
So every voice that rebels to this war
Must remember peace is in sight.
Pray for our soldiers….
God, please keep them well
Pray for our soldiers
Cuz war’s a living hell.

This plea for peace came to me when I was loading bombs in Korea for the fascist Nixon regime in 1972-73. I imagined the nuclear weapon I was empowering them with falling on the village where I lived. The name Jody came from a 3-year old riding her tricycle outside a pub in Ireland when a bomb in their war took her. Humanity needs leaders who will lead us to that time appropriate to cast away stones.
Cast Away Stones (Jody’s War) © 1973 by Gary E. Andrews. All Rights Reserved.
Now the war is over.
The boys are comin’ home.
‘Though they’ve signed the papers,
The battle rages on.
Hear the babies cryin’.
Hear the women moan.
Hear the liars tryin’,
To cover up the bones!
Cast Away Stones.
Cast Away Stones.
Can’t we just Cast Away Stones?
Somewhere in a gray house,
High up on a hill,
Jody heard the T.V.,
And her heart stood still.
Tommy’s in the Army.
He’s been gone too long.
Jody’s in New Hampshire,
Living all alone.
Cast Away Stones.
Cast Away Stones.
Can’t we just Cast Away Stones?
Now, it doesn’t really matter,
Where you draw the line!
That’s where Jody drew hers,
And here’s where I’ll draw mine!
People listen to me!
I can’t do this alone!
I tried to do it their way,
But now I’ll try my own!
Cast Away Stones.
Cast Away Stones.
Can’t we just Cast Away Stones?
Now we’re in a time of peace,
Or so the papers say.
But Jody’s heart will know no peace
Until she sees his face.
Now the war is over,
But Jody’s war goes on.
If no one will help her fight
She’ll fight it all alone!
Cast Away Stones.
Cast Away Stones.
Can’t we just Cast Away Stones?

“A Peaceful Solution” Based on Willie and Amy Nelson’s
© April 29, 2007 original.
(Verse 1)
On the road to Coachella,
I realized I’m just one fella.
But I’ve got to do my part,
With my hand upon my heart,
To restore the Constitution!
We need a freedom revolution!
The founding fathers gave us,
The law that can save us,
With A Peaceful Solution,
A Peaceful Solution,
A freedom revolution,
For A Peaceful Solution!
On the road to Armageddon,
Seems to be where they’ve got us headin’!
There’s a war on and we’re in it!
Together we can end it!
Let’s take back America!
We need our freedom, peace and love.
The first casualty of war,
Is the truth that we’ll restore,
With A Peaceful Solution,
A Peaceful Solution,
A freedom revolution,
For A Peaceful Solution.
(Instrumental Interlude)
We’re all on the road to somewhere!
We keep goin’ ‘til we get there!
It’s a dream but believe it!
Get ready to receive it!
To restore the Constitution,
We need a freedom revolution!
The founding fathers gave us,
The law that can save us,
With A Peaceful Solution,
A Peaceful Solution,
A freedom revolution,
For A Peaceful Solution!

There’s a war and we’re in it, but I know we can END it.
You can no more win a war than you can win an earthquake.

American Medication
—————————————————–
Prescription government distorts it all slight of hand a missed call
A government for a certain few not for people like me and you .
America, better wake up soon.
Behind a phone booth she was selling herself her job lost she had nothing else
No need to produce anything here outsourcing will make us freer
America, nothing comes for free.
Turning the whole world into one American fountain of youth
No bars no cars no romance no winning cigars no work for the youth
America, hold out for the truth.
Around the corner always something new, stopped in for coffee and the paper too.
President preaches an easy chore, in and out like daddy’s war
Eyes off the prize and after the fact, addicted to oil imagine that.
Their was a chance to make the right call but greed took his eye off the ball
America, America time to stand up for us all.
Facts screamed go after the guilty few, keeping U N rules in fact.
But after the future cracked now we can’t put humpty back
Americans, don’t turn your backs.
The famous evil doers are not afraid to attack
He wanted him dead or alive, now he doesn’t know where he’s at
Americans time to take our country back
How can you kill in the name of the lord it doesn’t seem right to me
How can you kill in the name of the lord it doesn’t seem right to me
How can you kill in the name of the lord it doesn’t seem right to me
How can you kill in the name of the lord it doesn’t seem right to me
Hold on to the land of the free.
Past protesters and political polls soldiers shot full of holes
Stuck like glue unable to move killing again by religious fool
America, America whose god made the rules?
Neo-cons medication is truth through lies and fear
Closing my eyes I scream what are we doing here?
America, congress what do you fear?
Repetition makes Bush think its true but he praised brownie and scooter too
Staring at kids in the school room as New Yorkers raced from the fumes
America, rise up from the ruins.
The newspaperman asked would you still vote the same .
I have yet to see a politician not turn in shame.
America you know who to blame.
We’ll spend millions to save a dime as the enemy is now a religion this time
.
I see power scared and unprepared as it demands freedom stand in line
America, hold on to me in time,.
Grabbing the envelope as the storm picked up my reflexes surprised me
A country as lost as missing votes now I walk and always look behind me.
Hold on tight to the land of the free.

For many years we’ve asked “What Would Jesus Do?” The answer has arrived: Walk the path of Truth, Dance the steps of Peace, Sing the Song of Joy and Dream this Reality of Love! I now call to all Children of GOD: Put down your swords and sheilds and come follow me in the ways of Love! Hey Mr. Nelson have you heard the one about MVH in the jon at Agape Spritual Center and standing next to a guy talking about a screenplay for the movie Jesus goes to Washington. I’d love to meet you and talk about The Heavenly Call for sustainable living and saving Family Farms. http://www.goldenageofpeace.com

This is song I wrote a while ago. There are people writing peace/anti-war songs, but some of us can’t get them recorded. I just show up at open mics with my acoustic guitar and play ‘em for whoever is there.
LEARN HOW TO LOVE (guitar is similar to ‘You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away’)
(verse 1)
Lennon said, “Love is all you need.”
And with those words we can be free.
Haven’t you had your fill of war?
Set yourself free. Set yourself free.
(verse 2)
What’s with this world that we live in?
Why can’t we learn from where we have been?
If loving another is a sin,
Everything’s lost. Everything’s lost.
(chorus)
It’s time to learn how to love.
Stop all the hate, there’s been enough.
It’s time to learn how to love.
Open your hearts learn how to love.
(verse 3)
How much is enough to set you free?
End all the strife. End all the greed.
Help to fulfill everyone’s needs.
We can be one. We can be one.
(chorus)
It’s time to learn how to love.
Stop all the hate there’s been enough.
It’s time to learn how to love.
Open your hearts learn how to love.
(bridge)
Think of the children.
Think of your children.
Let all the children sing.
(chorus)
It’s time to learn how to love. (You know you got to feel it.)
Stop al the hate there’s been enough. (You know there’s been enough.)
It’s time to learn how to love. (Open up your hearts now.)
Open your hearts learn how to love. (Oh yeah, yeah.)
Open your hearts learn how to love.

There is a peaceful solution. It’s called a peace revolution.
Now let’s take back America.
There’s a war and we’re in it,but I know we can win it.
There was a peace resolutionand a peaceful revolution
and the peaceful solution saved America.
Without a peace revolution it’s a far gone conclusion
The world loses and nobody wins.
This war that we’re in should never have been
Now let’s take back America.
There was a peace resolution
and a peaceful revolution
and the peaceful solution saved America
We can’t wait for the war to be over to restore the world’s conclusions
Let’s reinstate the constitution and become part of the solution
As divided as we seem we have to save the dream
For all people on Earth
With America scared and unprepared
We need a peaceful revolution
Don’t say it can’t be done
Come on every one
Let a peaceful solution save America.

A peaceful solution is a peaceful revolution to take our country back, to take our planet back. Lets get back to our default nature of love, compassion and kindness. Lets set the world on fire with so much love and light, nobody can turn away. It’s time now for a change in direction for all of mankind. Even the terrorists want peace. They just think it’s going to come when they kill their enemy. But we know peace never comes that way. Peace comes from within and from an understanding that all our heart really wants is love…not hate, peace…not war, calm…not a storm. Global warming is our only real enemy now…an enemy that we have created but we must turn the tide and save this beautiful earth and all life on it. We have to have faith that love is the only true power that can change the direction of the human heart and with that comes the real peace!
Willie, please help us to start the blaze of love and peace and together we’ll carry the torch across the world with your voice leading the way.
Thank you for taking the lead.
XO Kim

Willie,
I play in a klezmer band, and last year I was having trouble gettting the musicians to feel the sadness of one of our favorite songs, “Papirosen” (cigarettes)
You can google the word to hear the melody.
It’s in Yiddish, and so I wrote updated modernized English words to the old melody, which is about a child orphaned after WW1 by the Spanish flu and the Russian Revolution.
In that time, we threw away unwanted children.
In this time, we throw away middle-aged men.
Look at some homeless people sometime and note their age and you’ll see what I mean.
Here’s my words:
A bitter night, a howling wind,
and raindrops all around
A homeless man is all hunched over,
from sleeping on the ground
He perks up, approaches somebody
Holds his hand out, asks for money,
And he tries not to weep
When he’s turned down.
“I lost my son to a roadside bomb
In the futile Iraq war
My wife died of a heart attack
She couldn’t grieve any more
Now my career has gone away
In India they now draw my pay
And the landlord came
And put me out the door”
(Verse)
Oh, could you share a little bit of spare change?
It would help, whatever you could give.
Welfare agencies won’t help me,
Missionaries can’t convert me
A cardbox is where I get to live.
Oh, could I have the last bite of your danish?
Yesterday, I didn’t eat at all
I’m starving, sick, forlorn, forgotten
My eyes are bad, my breath is rotten,
There’s no more joy left in my life at all.
The example of giving away music has inspired me to post this song here.
Thank you.
