In the picture above from right to left is Ruben Lopez lead guitar, writer and composer, Michael Deneau acoustic rhythm guitar, writer and composer, Don Degroft Bass and Jimmy Pryor Drums. Carl Schwindeman (not in photo) is percussion and recording engineer.

Out of the Blue didn’t hold anything back for their version of A Peaceful Solution, which reminds me of a classic rock ‘n’ roll song. Out of the Blue took the original song A Peaceful Solution by Willie Nelson and Amy Nelson and added to every aspect of it.

This production presents a first class performance all the way around. The arrangement and orchestration both ambitious and skillfully realized create a classic wall of sound that seduces us into a special world of sounds, images and feelings.

Inside this special world the original additional lyrics along with the expertly executed melodies carries us through a harsh landscape of the realities of war and a call to remember John Lennon’s words, “Give Peace a Chance” and “War is Over.”

The mood builds and the lyrics remind us that we need a peaceful solution and a peace revolution to take back America again. The final blazing guitar solo sears these peaceful ideas into our consciousness.

A Peaceful Solution

A Peaceful Solution
They say we’ll fight em over there
So we don’t fight em here
I don’t believe a single word there’ sayinJohn said give peace a chance
And that’s exactly my stance
We gotta bring em home
And let the wounds begin to heal

War is over if you can dream it
War is over if you believe it
War is over I can feel it

We need peaceful solution
We need a peace revolution
We gotta take back America again
Yeah there’s a war and we’re in it
I don’t know if we can win
We gotta take back America again
We gotta take back America again

You’d think we’d recognize
When things went wrong
From Ho Chi Minh to Baghdad
It’s the same sad song
The poor man pays the price for the rich mans war
The poor man pays the price for the rich mans war

War is over if you can dream it
War is over if you believe it
War is over I can feel it

We need a peaceful solution
We need a peace revolution
We gotta take back America again
We need a peaceful solution
We need a peace revolution
We gotta take back America again
We gotta take back America again
We gotta take back America again
We gotta take back America again

War is over if you can dream it
War is over if you believe it
War is over I can feel it

John Lennon created a song for peace in the twentieth century and now in the twenty first century Willie Nelson’s A Peaceful Solution project extends the peaceful message by inviting as many musicians and artists to take this one song and create their personal messages for peace.

A Peaceful Solution started as one song but now through collaborations with many talented and committed messengers of peace like Out of the Blue, A Peaceful Solution has become many songs for peace.

Please take a moment and go visit Out of the Blue on their MySpace profile.

Thank you Out of the Blue for continuing to spread this peaceful message throughout the world.

by Michael Deneau

Why are you passionate about creating peace?
What motivates you to work for peace and the environment?

Mostly I am gravely concerned about the future for all of our children.
What kind of world we they inherit from us?
Will my daughter face a nation in debt and in perpetual war?
That’s why I’m passionate.

How long have you been working for peace?

Honestly I never in my life have thrown a punch at anyone. Maybe I just a pacifist, I try to work things out or leave well enough alone. If I have to fight I think it is best to let the aggressor’s expend all the negative energy …get it out of the way approach.

In summary I believe I’ve been working at peace my whole life.

Why have you chosen the path of Art for Peace?

I first picked up the guitar at age five. Elvis, Willie, Stonewall Jackson, Waylon Jennings to mention a few were the first records that I heard…you see my grandpa loved American country music, which I found really cool because he was from Belgium and had immigrated here after the first world war. I could tell he loved his country (America) and considering that he fought in WW II I know he loved the peace and freedom he found here after he returned.

So again in summary the path I choose has it’s roots in Music, the freedom to express. And to write a song that can touch a person in a way that helps define them. A song that Willie wrote comes to mind “Mama’s don’t let your baby’s grow up to be Cowboys.” Well, I play guitar and I drive a truck …go figure?

What are your ideas for peaceful solutions?

Start and finish in the same place. Register, Vote and demand action for this current situation.

In the long run? I guess never stop preaching the gospel of peace. For instance,  What if Harry Truman had called up the Prime minister of Japan, met him in the New Mexico desert lit off the Bomb and said “You see there, we could drop this on one of you cities or you sign a peace treaty” I think that might have been a better result than what did occur in Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

I know, I know sounds a bit harsh for a pacifist but I also believe in peace through strength. The same could be applied today, only we don’t need to threaten anyone, in this case we just need to begin withdrawal and

“Give Peace a chance.”

Peace
