Does This Sound Like You?

You have a need for other people to like and admire you, and yet you tend to be critical of yourself. While you have some personality weaknesses you are generally able to compensate for them. You have considerable unused capacity that you have not turned to your advantage. Disciplined and self-controlled on the outside, you tend to be worrisome and insecure on the inside. At times you have serious doubts as to whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing. You prefer a certain amount of change and variety and become dissatisfied when hemmed in by restrictions and limitations. You also pride yourself as an independent thinker; and do not accept others’ statements without satisfactory proof. But you have found it unwise to be too frank in revealing yourself to others. At times you are extroverted, affable, and sociable, while at other times you are introverted, wary, and reserved. Some of your aspirations tend to be rather unrealistic.
If you answered yes, then you can be played. Read about it here.
This technique is also known as cold reading.
This is just a small indication of to what degree people can be manipulated if they are not on guard.
I am writing this to encourage you to be a critical thinker. Face it, as a country we were bamboozled into letting the current administration have its way with Iraq. Even normally cautious journalists were tricked. But now that we know the truth we can correct the course of our country. And we can hold those responsible for the deception accountable.
It doesn’t feel good to find out we were made fools of. It feels even worse to see the damage done to others because of our lack of critical thinking. But we can do something about it now that we know. And there is something each and every United States citizen can do.
Each and every United States citizen can tell his or her Representatives and Senators to support impeachment and end the occupation of Iraq. Each and every United States citizen can write a letter to his or her local newspaper. I am sure that even more is possible but I will leave those possibilities up to you to discover.
