The Patriot Trio offer a version of A Peaceful Solution the sounds exactly right for these Holy Days. They also provide a splendid example of the tremendous diversity among those who appear willing to stand up for peace.

Make no mistake.

Every voice adds to the overwhelming weight of the calls for reform and lists of grievances. Altogether, it rises up as a multi-voiced call against the corruption of life in its entirety.

The Patriot Trio consistently express dismay over the current global order. You can read examples from their here and here.

PEACE and the PATRIOT TRIO
The Patriot Trio is Mike, Cheryl and Marty Miller. Like many artists our musical roots are in gospel music. Brothers, Mike and Marty played professionally in rock and roll, and top 40 bands during the 1980s. Marty now resides in Louisville, Kentucky and is currently playing with Mickey Clark. Mike’s lovely wife Cheryl sings with a gospel group in Lenoir, North Carolina called Simple Faith. Mike is a long time activist for truth and peace and the Patriot Trio came into being as the result of one of his songs called “I Weep for the Children” which they recorded earlier this year. Perhaps being a child of the peace revolution of the 1960s influenced Mike’s ideals.

If ever there has been a need for peace it is now. With the world economy spiraling downward it seems the stress barometer is spiraling ever upward. Decent hard working Americans are losing their jobs, homes and dreams everyday.

Over thirty thousand young men and women are being deployed to Afghanistan as the war in Iraq still wages on into oblivion. We hear the war drums beating regarding Iran on the nightly news.

At some point we should ask ourselves if it is truly the job of this once great Nation to bring “peace” to the world at the end of a gun barrel? Then again, is it really peace the powers that be are seeking? Could it be this despicable genocide is nothing more than greed and lust for power?

As Americans became increasingly nauseated with the Vietnam War in the late 1960s we listened as the group Buffalo Springfield sang “There’s battle lines being drawn, Nobody’s right if everybody’s wrong.”

We spend more money on weaponry than all the other countries of the world combined. We continually invade countries that have done nothing to us somehow believing that we are the policeman of the planet. Is there any wonder that there is such hatred around the world for America?

Is there any wonder the citizens of this once great Nation are finally collectively saying “We’ve had enough?”

Carpenters and engineers work with wood, concrete and steel. Songwriters and musicians work with ideas, words and melodies. In 1697 William Congreve wrote the words “Music has charms to soothe a savage beast.” It is the desire of the Patriot Trio to send out a soothing message of peace.

It is our desire to reclaim the ideals and Constitutional values of our Founders. Our prayer is that we can take our Country back and that there is truly a “A Peaceful Solution.”
