Hear ”A Peaceful Solution” by Cal Jennings
Cal Jennings, creator of several A Peaceful Solution videos, returns to add another peaceful message through his mp3 version of A Peaceful Solution. Cal shows us by example that through the spirit of cooperation we can spread peace and goodwill through the arts.
Creativity provides an avenue for innovation and functions to develop new peaceful solutions. Instead of competing over what we currently have available we can put our energies to work and create new viable alternatives that sustain a peaceful healthy world.
Our collective strength as a people and a nation grows as we expand the horizons of possibilities for future progress towards a world of sustainability. Peaceful solutions can make war obsolete by encouraging the inventions and use of new and old technologies in providing alternative energy sources, health care, food production and clean water.
America can become a leader in the world once again by exporting peace and establishing fraternity between nations. We build trust and respect through our actions by sharing the means to provide for the needs of our citizens and our neighbors throughout the world while protecting and improving the environment.
By fostering true fraternity between nations, reduction of standing armies becomes a real possibility. We can then live in a world where we know war will not function as the first solution to a perceived problem.
We all share one world and by embracing this fact to its logical conclusion we understand the necessity to do whatever we can to connect to each other and creatively solve situations that affect each one of us no matter what country we call home.
Thanks Cal for shining your bright light of peace our way.
* * * * * Artist’s Statement * * * * *
I am passionate about creating peace because I have seen and experienced the suffering that anything BUT peace causes. It is contrary to everything our creator intended for us. If we continue on this destructive path, the earth will soon be uninhabitable not only for us, but also for all other living things.
I first became aware of the world-wide implications when I was five years old and heard the first woman I had seen who was crying over losing her husband in Viet Nam. She had come over to our next door neighbor’s house deep in tears, expressing the pain she was feeling over losing her husband and being unable to support her children.
War causes nothing but pain, hurt and grief for those who do not obtain huge profits from it. It maims and kills bodies, releases pollutants into the atmosphere, and destroys rather than creates. Those who gain from war seem to delight in the misery of the “little people” so much that they seem oblivious to the fact that if the world is unlivable for us, it is also unlivable for them.
It’s time that we took the power away from the super-rich and put the power back into the hands of We the People. Instead of supporting only the few, rich, corporate farmers, we need to lend support to all who farm. We need to do everything in a spirit of cooperation rather than the corporate driven spirit of competition.
We need to help one another to succeed, not try to tear down one another so that someone doesn’t get a little ahead of us. We need to quit burning dead, rotted things which pollute and destroy our environment and encourage and demand of our leaders that they turn to cleaner sources of energy. I’ve witnessed refineries buying out patents for cleaner energy and destroying them.
Willie Nelson’s biofuel is at least made from things that were living in our lifetime. I studied about Tesla and his ideas for free, clean energy and know that much better is possible. There is an automobile that runs on water, for instance (off of the hydrogen).
This is a clean burning source that will not pollute the atmosphere.
I suspect that the very energy which powers the nerves in our bodies and in all other living things, the power that flows in, around, and through us all, could be used to power whatever we need. Why haven’t the free energy plans been researched and developed? The reason is because there isn’t big monetary profit in free energy.
All free energy would do is help every living thing on earth. No one could exploit and make huge profits off of free energy. That’s why they quit funding Nicola Tesla’s experiments into broadcasting electricity without wires. We should be developing ideas like this rather than running to other countries to steal their resources.
How much would we have progressed not only ourselves, but the entire world, if we had spent the billions we have spent on the war in Iraq on creating and developing new, clean methods of fueling vehicles? How many more people would still be alive today if we had taken food and supplies rather than guns to Iraq? How much less would they hate us now?
Violence begets violence. If we don’t at least TRY to break the cycle of violence, it will snowball into an atomic blizzard.
should be our motto. Instead of returning violent reactions to violent actions, we need to first try reacting with understanding until we’ve exhausted all other options.
Although we need to be on guard against evil, we do not need to become evil ourselves. You do not fight evil with evil. You fight evil with kindness, with hope, and by letting our inner light shine, causing the darkness to flee.
John F. Kennedy said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country”. On a more personal level, ask not what your neighbor can do for you, but what you can do for your neighbor. Next time you are tempted to ask, “What’s in it for me?” remember that the simple act of being the first to offer help brings greater rewards than money can ever bring.
