BillyRay created a very touching and soulful country rendition of A Peaceful Solution. It’s rare to see BillyRay playing his guitar for a song. We usually see him singing karaoke. Therefore we feel especially grateful he agreed to break out his guitar and do his own down-home country version.

BillyRay puts a lot of feeling into his interpretation. He puts strong vocal dynamics into this performance. And I have the impression that these dynamics represent BillyRay’s heartfelt feelings.

BillyRay sings A Peaceful Solution the way many of us would like to sing it. Heartfelt and demonstrably moved to be part of a musical peace movement; BillyRay shows what it is like to profoundly desire peace while being aware of the continuing violence.

There are many of us who feel a deep angst concerning the aggression of the U.S. military. The question always arises as to how to change a violent nature without resorting to violence.

And when we come to the conclusion that violence cannot be met with violence in the name of peace often we are only left with an empty and impotent sadness. To those of us who support peace, violent actions seem pointless and ineffective measures to gain any worthwhile goal.

Yet, while some of us feel this way, there are far too many of us ready and willing to resort to deadly force to settle a disagreement.

One could hope that collectively we could muster up the few brain cells required to find peaceful resolutions. Unfortunately it seems that our species only uses those few brain cells individually.

Too often, as a group, people have proven to be decidedly stupid and violent.

That is why singing songs for peace can help. Together, we can reach out and let people know that together we can act for peace.

And now is the time for peace.

The human species has created a real mess of the environment while squandering non-renewable resources. Global Warming is a fact and the effects will be profound. As a people, we need everyone working together to survive the now inevitable results of our actions.

Now is not the time for fighting.

This goes beyond senseless violence and cruelty to a nation or group. As a people, we commit senseless violence and cruelty to ourselves and now pass on to the next generation.

We do all this violence to ourselves. We are both the victims and the perpetrators. And if we continue on our present course, we will be the death of us all.

BillyRay sings just outside of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He can see what we are doing, just as many others of the international community can see it.

Now if we can only see it for ourselves and then muster the courage to stand up and do something peaceful about it.

Standing up and doing something about the violence could be as simple and peaceful as singing a song for peace. Please do not let another day go by without doing something for peace.

Here are my thoughts on what’s going on in this world of ours at this time in History.

This Bush administration is nothing but crooks and liars! They’ve highjacked two elections, and are about to start a third world war!

I am a PROUD Canadian, and have ALWAYS stood up for the U.S.A.

No more, not to watch this world being shot to hell and back by the religious right, and the ilk of Cheney, Rumsfeld. I could go on and on!!!

I’ll just leave it there. And PRAY for a democratic government in 08!!
