Daniel R. Comeau made his A Peaceful Solution video with images and animated gifs he found while searching the word Peace online. The soundtrack for Daniel’s video is Out of the Blue’s version of A Peaceful Solution, which was a recent feature for the Willie Nelson A Peaceful Solution project. Thank you Daniel for helping Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute spread a peaceful message to the world.
Daniel documents and makes it explicit that peace is not a new idea. He points out that many people are working to create a peaceful world. He has given us a video that shows the power of community. Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute has become a peace node that continues to celebrate a peaceful message.
Daniel shows that the Willie Nelson A Peaceful Solution project is spreading as more people join and create their own song and/or video. Much of the imagery that he uses comes from people and organizations already affiliated with this project.
More and more people are connecting and sharing this idea. This is what web 2.0 is about, networks connecting to other networks. We have friends who are friends with others and we all become friends as we communicate a message of peace that resonates with many throughout the world.
It’s been said that there is no more than 6 degrees of separation between any two people in the world. As we keep Willie Nelson’s A Peaceful Solution project going, the message continues to move from one network to another. Soon everyone will receive this peaceful message.
Will you be the next person to step up and create A Peaceful Solution song and/or video and extend this peaceful message to your network?

Daniel R. Comeau was born a Libra in a small town in northern New Brunswick, Canada. Daniel, also known as Dan or Danny by friends, Hawkeye by his former scout youth, and Dad by his 3 growing children, has lived and worked in several Canadian provinces in a variety of jobs. Nonetheless, his peaceful ways have been known by those he’s had the opportunity to encounter over the years. Currently, he is a single parent and has returned to the hometown of his youth after an absence of nearly 20 years.
As a youth, he was a member of the “Kindness Club”, Cubs, minor hockey, the Columbian Squires, Royal Canadian Air Cadets, and a variety of social groups and sports teams. To sum it up, Dan has always been active at promoting peace and concern for the environment. His father promoted the idea that anybody can achieve anything they put their mind to and work at to succeed. So, with this in mind, Dan went on in life with a “No Fear” attitude.
In most recent years, Dan has also been affected by witnessing many wrongs and injustices over the TV news or before his very eyes. This has only served to fuel Dan’s personal mission to make the World a better place. “Whether I change one moment of time, or an entire group of people, I find success in my achievements”, says Dan. “I feel it is my personal responsibility as a citizen of this earth to make the necessary changes to make this World a better place for all to enjoy”.
Having witnessed many conflicts, his passion is driven by the knowledge that life can be better for anyone who desires it. Dan’s influences have been from Gandhi, John Lennon, Martin Luther King Jr., all the ’60s peace activists, and nature itself. All these people were promoters of peace that avoided conflict. With a realization that these people were all assassinated for performing this work has not been a hindrance but a driving force for this man. He knew that anything good does not come easy and that many people are selfish in their ways and will do what they can to prevent positive thought to go to those needing help. When a person’s life is without conflict, they become passive and accepting of others and their differences.
“I have seen photos and spoken to people living in regions experiencing major devastation from global warming, armed conflict, dictatorship and many of my friends from youth have served in the Canadian military as Peacekeepers. It horrifies me to know that in today’s day and age that we can be blind and ignorant of all this destruction. We all have the ability to do better for ourselves, our families and our World. It only takes the initial act to make change occur.”
As a youth, and every year since, Dan’s only request for a Christmas gift has been for Peace on Earth. “I don’t ask for material gifts, or toys, etc. I ask for reasonable things that I know will make my life and the life of others better. World Peace will certainly make everyone’s life better, therefore, I ask for a gift that will be shared and enjoyed by everyone on the planet.”
“I have been using Art for Peace as a means of getting my voice heard for about a year or so now. I found the You Tube website from a friend’s son who was watching ridiculous videos of people jumping from walls, etc. I figured this source of exposure would be phenomenal at sharing ways to make the World cleaner and safer. I learned how to use my “Windows Movie Maker” software and began assembling slideshows of my photos that I’ve taken of my local area. I found a feeling of self-gratification from this work. I was now enjoying the music I liked and to view pictures that I loved in a slideshow format. I wanted to do more but was unsure about plagiarism laws, so I took it upon myself to occasionally request the recording artist’s permission to post such a video using their music. I made the mistake of not asking one large performer that I won’t name, his song was removed by the Recording Agency representing his work”.
Although Dan is rarely motivated by money, he realizes there is a need. If the World needs to roll smoothly, it will have to be done with everyone as equals. We must all be paid the same amount to do the work we are best suited for that we enjoy the most. If you do the work you enjoy, and receive enough income to live well, you will be happy. From this, we can assume that life will become happier through work. The rest falls into place in a trickle effect.
We often hear statements that no one is ever completely satisfied. This is true and there is no denial of this. No one will ever feel at peace knowing others are starving somewhere. Or a child is dying because of malnutrition, lack of shelter, clothing or illness due to injury. We cannot continue in this World with the concept that only the strong survive. “We can all survive and do so healthily and lovingly”.
No war on this planet has ever been carried out by happy people. There have always been at least 2 unhappy, unsatisfied people. Wars are caused by someone finally losing the ability or concern to remain compassionate of the feelings or wants/needs of the other person. Conflict resolution is simple. If the person that is at the “Peace” talks is not in agreement with the terms of the other person, then someone else should be sent in to talk or negotiate. This can continue till finally an agreement is reached. Remember, ALL WORLD RELIGIONS have the same promotion of Peace. All religions want to live in harmony. We share many things on this planet including the need for food, shelter, health, education and love. Everybody needs to be loved. Everybody!
“I’ve recently noticed the tides are turning, the World is more aware of the horrors elsewhere. Celebrities, musicians, statesmen, activists are all making it known that we will no longer settle for a life less acceptable when we see the harm that is being inflicted upon the innocents. Love yourself like you should. If you feel there is something wrong in your life, make every attempt you can to make change. If change is unattainable to you by yourself, ask the help of others. Beg if you must, but at least make the initial decision to want to go forth and prosper.”
“My next vision is to see the construction of an Environmental Free University constructed in my home town which has been a pulp and paper town for over 75 years. The World’s greatest export and commodity for thousands of years has been hemp. Hemp was used in the production of paper till about 1830 and since certain men realized that trees were larger than hemp the forests of the planet have been raped. They didn’t care how long it would take to restore these trees, nor were they concerned at how it would affect the planet. It is time for the employers to listen to the employees who do care about their futures and that of their families.”
