UT Global Ethics and Conflict Resolution
Summer Symposium for High School Students
University of Texas, Austin
June 17 - 30, 2007
Come for either week or both weeks

High School students are invited to Austin for fast-paced skills workshops and university lectures on ethics, justice and conflict management, ranging from international to personal issues.

Distinguished professors, politicians and artists will present lectures.

Topics to be explored: Negotiation Theory; Music and Art of Peace; A Devoted and Dynamic Family; Safety and School; Race, Ethnicity and Community; Civil Rights, Human Rights, and Individual Responsibility; Current Events; Public Policy and National Identity.

Members of the Willie Nelson Center Students for Peaceful Conflict Resolution will serve as counselors in a private dorm with good security and good food (omnivore plan or vegetarian).

The adult to student ratio is 1 to 6.

Students will also make a music video, produce an Internet magazine, visit local museums and the Texas Capitol, bowl in the student union and swim at the dorm.
