Hear “A Peaceful Solution” by Scott M. Schaffer

Scott M. Schaffer favors us with another version of “A Peaceful Solution” with a ukulele accompanying his vocals. I have begun to wonder about the ukulele as an instrument of choice among many musicians for peace.

The ukulele, an unassuming and modest instrument, seems appropriate to a song for peace. Born on the Hawaiian Islands, the ukulele is linked in many minds with a happy go lucky good time.

Certainly peace is a prerequisite for a happy go lucky good time.

Scott M. Schaffer further exemplifies many artists who consider themselves people of peace. Thoughtful and creative people seem to favor the idea of peace. We find it remarkable to have found so many musicians willing to participate in this peace project.

Besides the fact that a music video peace project would only seem accessible to thoughtful and creative musicians, the response has been encouraging. We really had no idea how many people would respond.

If you check out Scott M. Schaffer’s MySpace profile or his Earthless.tv podcast site you can see he is a busy person. Think about how he took some time out of his life to record his version of “A Peaceful Solution” for us.

We simply offer the opportunity to be part of something bigger than oneself.

Thoughtful creative people, like Scott M. Schaffer, truly desire a peaceful resolution to the violent situations of the world.

Scott M. Schaffer has a great voice and marked ability with musical instruments. There is no good reason for him to get involved with our “A Peaceful Solution” project unless he truly felt it was an idea whose time has come.

The time for the idea of peace has arrived.

We see the fact that people from Willie Nelson to Scott M. Schaffer are willing to stand up and sing for peace a remarkable development.

This is not the angry marching and invitation to confrontation so many other organizations pursue. This is a peace movement that is peaceful in everything it does.

We work for peace, peacefully.

If someone looks at the insane violence and tragedy of war as compared to the weak rationalizations used to justify war, the logic of peace becomes obvious. I have to wonder about those people who do not subscribe to this logic.

But my wonder and lack of understanding does not give me the liberty to force others to my point of view.

Everyone must see the logic of peace for themselves.

But it doesn’t hurt to keep the idea of peace always in the forefront.

And by joining “A Peaceful Solution” project you can help keep the idea of peace always in the forefront. Scott M. Schaffer helped because he believes its time has arrived and he simple could help.

Thank you Scott M. Schaffer. I appreciate that you took the time to share your musical gifts with us and sang a song for peace. You performed with grace and style, and perhaps most important of all is that you performed it at all.

Help Willie Nelson spread the idea of peace with “A Peaceful Solution.” Record the song in your own style or make a video using one of the previous performances of others. We’ll write you up and the idea of peace will grow stronger.

Isn’t now a good time to do it?

Why are you passionate about creating peace?

As a child I had always been very passionate… now as I have grown older I feel the need to create some kind of precedent for others to find out what it takes to be part of humanity as a whole. The message of peace isn’t just about freedom; it isn’t just about equality in our lives and living in harmony.

The message of peace is volatile and permeates just as deep into our psyche as violence and chaos. Peace is as important to the sustainable human race as the water and natural resources needed to bring life to a region.

Without the true meaning of peace in our lives, we regress back to the Dark Ages with barbarism and guerrilla tactics of hatred and war.

Upholding peace is a precious and abundantly available commodity to our sustainable future as human beings on this planet. So we better grab the reigns and pull this world back to our side here in America. We need to set a precedent like we never have before.

From free thinking western philosophy we need people to know that we are all here not to follow the crooked agenda of a corrupt politicians… we are here as a people, to generate peace amongst our selves, our neighbors and our friends. Make new friends and give people a chance to become part of the future of the human race.

I personally advocate for a peaceful world order of sustainable compassionate healthy friendships. NO matter what color or creed this world needs its peaceful equality to be felt by all of our people.

So in short, I guess I am passionate about creating peace because I believe it is imperative to our very survival as a species.

How long have you been working for peace?

I have not been actively working for peace as much as I should be. But there are little things that I do every day to contribute to the ways society can be. I am kind and courteous to my neighbors and people I interact with all day long, and I try very hard to carry love in my heart for all fellow human beings. No matter how despicable their actions may seem, people need the benefit of the doubt if given any.

What motivates you to work for peace and the environment?

Seeing that the world is mostly good and believing (as I do) that being born, human flesh is innately evil, I find the dichotomy of the human race to be one of balance and discipline. Self-discipline being the hardest to achieve above goals we set for ourselves to improve our health and humanity.

I live for this solution to work and to make friends where we thought we had enemies and begin to evolve as a species; together we can achieve this very futuristic goal of world harmony.

Why have you chosen the path of Art for Peace?

I just think I am inspired anew such as when I was in eighth grade and wrote a paper about the misconception people my age had of the sixties. I argued with myself in the paper that the sixties wasn’t a time of doing drugs and having sex… it was a time of self-enlightenment.

The sixties was a time when young minds were figuring out more for themselves than will fit in this paragraph, a time that meant the beginning of the end for violence.

What are your ideas for peaceful solutions?

I like the idea of socialized health care… but will it work? I like the idea of a woman president, but will it happen? I like the idea of a black president… will it become reality?

I like the idea that anybody can get the help they need to sustain their health and vitality. Should we get our support from our social security?

I like the idea of NEVER using petroleum based products in this WHOLE country, then worldwide.

But can we do it? I’m sure there are a thousand ideas that I’d agree with, which have never occurred to me. Maybe I just don’t have enough room to put down all my solutions but there are a few that I think will help.

OH and legalizing needlessly illegalized things such as marijuana… and that is just ONE example.

When people don’t feel plagiarized and commanded like they live in a dictatorship, they are more apt to become warm and friendly and adapt to changes around them including meeting new people more readily.

I always stop to save a dog in distress.
Some day I hope to sing the national anthem at a ball game or something.
