Hear “A Peaceful Solution” by Reed
Reed gives us a strong a cappella interpretation of A Peaceful Solution that combines a powerful voice, a powerful woman and a powerful message. Reed’s simple arrangement relies completely on the strength of her vocals to deliver her optimistic message of the certainty for a peaceful resolution.
Reed’s vocals contain a wide tonal range that clearly conveys her intent and determination to sing what’s in her heart and she does so with utter confidence. Reed doesn’t hold anything back as she takes command of the song.
Reed’s rendition of A Peaceful Solution exemplifies one strong woman standing up and demanding peace. She symbolizes all women around the world who do not support war but demand peace.
Women birth all who come into this world and it seems appropriate to me that women would take the position of creating peaceful solutions. I don’t know any mother who wants their child to go to war and die when there remains an alternative to deadly combat.
I remember dinners at home during the Vietnam War when my immigrant Dad, a retired Marine, would say how proud he would be of his sons if they went to war. He said if they died fighting for their country they would be considered heroes and that would give him comfort.
My Mom would become irate and the battle would begin, as she’d swear there was no way any son of hers would go to Vietnam. She’d tell my Dad that she would do whatever was necessary to make sure her boys stayed safe.
I think women like Reed and my Mom can lead the way to a peaceful world by standing strong, speaking their mind and doing whatever is in their power to have their voice be heard.
We appreciate Reed taking the time to offer her voice for Willie Nelson’s A Peaceful Solution project. We’d like to encourage more women to follow the example of Reed and the other women who have shared their vision for peace with us and submit A Peaceful Solution song and/or video.
Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute offers a venue for you to be heard. Will you stand up and add your voice to our united peaceful message?

Hi, Reed here. I’ve been neutral for as long as I can remember, being that my people are from Sweden. Influenced by that. I think the best solution for peace is not trying to be a big shot (country) to try to rule the world.
Live and let be, let people develop their own values, if not hurting others, for sure.
Values bring peace, not war.
Respecting the traditions of other nations make us slow down and be less critical or opinionated towards others. Because they worship a God that I don’t know… well that’s their business.
And I expect the same in return. Man does not rule God, God rules man, let us keep it that way and remember who we are. That to me is the most critical substance for peace.
Also, peace starts with how you treat your neighbor… that’s a good start… didn’t Jesus and Gandhi and others as such say…
love your neighbor as you love yourself
……….that’s a challenge to be accomplished, but well worth the effort and well worth to build a basis for being peaceful on this planet.
Thanks for hearing me out…………Reed
