Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute wishes to thank Monique “Amalphi” Claus for its new look. She designed and programmed the new theme while listening to Willie Nelson songs, especially from the Naked Willie album.
Monique found inspiration in the “less is more” concept.
The “less is more” concept comes from Willie Nelson. Mickey Raphael also used it when he “unproduced” the old Willie Nelson songs, tracking down the multi-track tapes and re-mixing songs with Willie”s original intent in mind.
Perhaps it’s something from the Tao (of Willie)? Simple, without too much decoration.
Good design must give you space for your own interpretation and feelings and try not push you in a certain direction or obtrude. Monique certainly designs to those criteria.
Linda Banks took the wonderful picture used for the banner, the button to Willie Nelson‘s official website and the favicon. We think she took it last December at Willie’s Place.

I’ve been working with Liz O’Garvey and Jay Greathouse since 2008. It started with two Photoshopped pictures of Willie Nelson, I made from photos I took at a concert of Willie Nelson and Family in Amsterdam. My following “projects” were two videos of “A Peaceful Solution“, a new banner and sidebar buttons for the website and some poem art.
Working with Liz and Jay always brings me joy and inspiration, so it was a pleasant surprise to me that Liz asked me if I felt like working with them on a new design of the website. I realized that a website is more than just a banner and some buttons, and I hoped I could bring this job to a good end.
You’re looking at the result of my work right now and I hope you like it. I could never have accomplished this without the support and encouragement of Liz and Jay and without Linda Banks of stillisstillmoving.com, who kindly gave me permission to use one of the beautiful pictures she took of Willie. Without this picture, the theme wouldn’t look the way I wanted it to. A big thank you to you all, my dear friends!
Again, a big thank you to Willie and Amy Nelson for starting this wonderful Peace Project and thank you Willie, for your beautiful music. I always listen to it while I’m working on my art. For this project, I listened a lot to “Naked” and you see what the result is
Love and Peace to you all!

I love the picture of Willie Nelson’s gate; it’s beautiful.
Thanks again, Linda and thank you so much for giving me permission to use the beautiful picture of Willie for this website.
Monique, Liz, and Jay ~ This new website design shows a lot of love went into it. It’s soft and beautiful…like peace is. And, I just know that a lot of love and peace will come out of it and to it.:)
