Paul Bradford sings about “…these days of mass confusion” in his version of “A Peaceful Solution.”

This perceptive lyric gives me pause to think. I think about the source of this mass confusion and who it serves.

I wonder if everything really needs to be enshrouded in confusion and if there aren’t actually some very simple answers out there.

Somehow I suspect that the simple answers aren’t the answers favored by those who profit on the current state of the world.

It is hard for me to see the sense in delaying peace.

Buying in to the idea that everything is too confused to hope for peace, much less work for peace, is not only self-defeating but also plays into the hands of those who profit on violence.

Peace is simple.

Paul Bradford gets it right when he speaks in his statement that he considers “A Peaceful Solution” a jingle for Peace.

The role of a jingle is to be easy to sing and remember so that one can keep an idea constantly on the top of your mind. In this case the product vying for top-of-the-mind awareness happens to be Peace.

This is the same project John and Yoko championed. This is the same project spoken of by every notable religious leader and spiritual advisor.

Willie Nelson and Amy Nelson have contributed their efforts to furthering world peace and have provided a way for more people to share the message of peace. This grass roots effort is showcased here on the Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute website.

Paul Bradford makes light of the time he spends picking with friends, recording in his basement studio and uploading songs to YouTube.

I would like point out that this is the essence of a peaceful solution. This type of peaceful activity promotes peace within the individual, propagates peace among small groups and provides evidence of such worthwhile activity on video.

No one could ask for more.

Be peaceful, act peacefully, share peace with others, let others know about what you do for peace so they know how easy it is and as the word spreads the world becomes more peaceful.

This is the peaceful revolution.

Well, first off, I can’t really say I’m part of any movement, or do art for peace per se. I don’t walk it, talk it, and live it like say, John Lennon and Yoko Ono. They really lived it.

I’m just a singer/songwriter. If something I created helps further the cause or bring awareness to the Peace movement, then I’m all for it.

I have been involved with music and songwriting and playing basically my whole life. I used to write local commercial jingles at one point many years ago. However, that said, I’d like to get back to John Lennon.

To paraphrase John, he said he and Yoko were like an ad agency and their product was Peace.

Well then this little song of Willie and Amy’s that I recorded can be considered a jingle for Peace. I hope it helps bring some awareness to the cause in the spirit of my big brother John and his wife Yoko.

I live on the East coast of the USA. Music today in my life is pretty much picking with friends, playing in my small basement studio, and uploading songs to YouTube. But I’m glad it’s there at all.
