Shirley Seary shares her joy of playing guitar and singing with her version of “A Peaceful Solution.” She exemplifies the required qualities to participate in a peaceful revolution leading to a peaceful resolution.

Take Back America.

With a 150 videos and mp3s of “A Peaceful Solution” now onsite I’ve gotten used to hearing the refrain urging us to Take Back America. Consider for a moment what this simple message implies.

In order to take something back it must first be taken away. Someone took America away. Someone else had America taken away from them. The refrain suggests that those who lost America will have America restored.

On one hand, the European colonization of America seemed to always contain an element of Imperialism. Without a doubt there were those who came to America with dreams of Empire.

On the other hand, many of the colonists only sought to establish a home for their families where they could exercise their Liberty and Freedom. Some Europeans lived peacefully with America’s indigenous people and learned from them.

A few of those who dreamed of Empire got their way.

Genocide and the exploitation or destruction of natural resources has fueled the engines of Empire. One would think that Empire builders would be smart enough to understand that such ways are not sustainable.

We now face the convergence of Global Warming, Peak Oil and Economic Meltdown as the unavoidable consequences of an aging and overextended Empire. This is the fruit of an imagined manifest destiny and the rewards of a system intended to satisfy endless greed.

Add to this the two wild cards of plastics that mimic estrogen entering the food chain and over 50 satellites with nuclear reactors in decaying orbits and you can see that we have stacked the deck against ourselves.

This is the reward for generations of violence and contention.

We can Take Back America while there is still something to save or we can sit on our hands until the Empire collapses and do what we can to pick up the pieces. Neither path is without its challenges.

Make no mistake, the Empire will collapse of its own mechanisms if left to its own devices. Of course, the longer it goes on the worse the recovery will be if there is to be any recovery at all.

We can begin the recovery today.

Choose the peaceful revolution, seek a peaceful resolution, Take Back America and begin to build a world we can be proud of passing on to future generations.

Shirley Seary has chosen the path of peace. We should do no less.

Why have you chosen the path of Art for Peace?

Hello everyone. Influences of Art for Peace that have greatly influenced me were all the amazing artists that I grew up listening to in the sixties & seventies such as the late John Lennon, Bob Dylan and just about everyone in the folk and rock’n'roll industry for that era.

Civil rights movement great late Martin Luther King Jr, First Nations singer/songwriter Buffy St. Marie…just to name a few that I would proudly light a candle for.

All have enriched my life and brought peace as a strong strong value.
