Hear “A Peaceful Solution” by Christopher David Willits

Christopher David Willits sings “A Peaceful Solution” with a professional polish that supports rather than competes with his message. This is a tricky position to be in, to have all the power and control over the recording while safeguarding that which moved you to record in the first place.

Those who have invested in themselves by learning how to do something really well understand how the acquisition of technology and technique can impede getting stuff done.

Christopher David Willits has moved past that trap by employing technology and technique to clearly and accurately present both the logical and emotional content. It’s a pleasure to find such a balanced artist.

This would be a good pattern for our country to follow. Now that the United States Of America exercised its military power to politically control our world it’s time to remember those things for which that power and control were created for in the first place.

Perhaps you would rather believe that we exist primarily to predate upon and victimize our fellow human beings. I refuse to believe this and yet it certainly seems to be the way of the world.

We are witnessing a huge disconnect between that which we can and should do on one side and the actual fruit of our labors. The tree of our species will be known by the fruit it produces.

Many are willing to tell you what to do about it. Indeed, it seems every possible opinion gets expressed somewhere, somehow. Rather than join a chorus of pundits we suggest that you hold the feeling of peace in your heart.

When you feel the difference, when you know that peace is the only viable answer, process and path into the future, then share your good feelings. Perhaps you could sing a peace song.

Some don’t think that is doing very much. But I know that if you can pull that off then you have accomplished a large undertaking.

I’m not talking about just mechanically creating a recording. I’m talking about living a life centered around peaceful coexistence with other people. This threatens the underpinnings of the entire imperialistic political-economic empire.

Christopher David Willits is one such peaceful revolutionary. By using his talent, technique and technology to publicly proclaim his allegiance to peace he enables many more to pick up the banner of peace.

People made the world the way it is. People can also choose to make the world a world at peace. People like Christopher David Willits and his Jugband have chosen peace.

* * * * * Artist’s Statement * * * * *

My name is Christopher David Willits; I am 28 years old and a working musician (The Jugband, Strange.Design, and my own recordings, all from New Jersey), father of two (Sarah and Dylan), husband (Debra), and a full time student at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey.

I was lucky enough to grow up with more liberal parents than most people and because of this they pushed me very heavily towards the music arts at a very young age. I have been playing music now, in some shape or form, for over 23 years and am, since my teenage years, a strong advocate for peace.

I have always been a patriotic person but I feel that we need a change in this country. We need to take back our country from politicians, and oil companies, and say no to this “war for oil’s sake.”

We need to bring our troops home safely and secure our own future so that our children’s children have just as beautiful a country to grow up in as I did.

I have chosen to use my music as my peaceful statement, because I believe it is the only way that we, as a world nation, are ever going to survive the future. I wish the entire world could hear peace’s message and I wish that the entire world could have the chance to stand up and admit how important peace is for the evolution of all people.

It’s the only way we’re going to make it.

It’s our last chance.

I’d like to thank everyone involved in my life and wish the entire world a peaceful day.
