Agnes Marsala uses thought provoking images with her version of “A Peaceful Solution.” She reminds us all of the terrible cost of not choosing peace.
One would hope that this message is no longer necessary but it seems that many have yet to have a peaceful realization. I wonder how anyone cannot be aware of the trouble we are in but still the madness continues.
There seems to be a cultural problem that manifests in the belief that controlling and abusing the natural world is justifiable. We now have social decisions made on the basis of how well these decisions serve the ends of controlling or destroying wild nature.
The economics of this culture promote the destructive extraction of the most highly valued component of an ecological system and the trashing of everything else in the effort.
Everything else in this case often includes people.
This practice is no more sustainable than the manner in which we now use energy or technology.
If we do not embrace a peaceful revolution our culture will continue to make the lives of the vast majority of humans miserable. Without a peaceful revolution our culture will continue until the culture and probably the planet collapses.
Those who profit from this culture of madness will not participate in a voluntary transformation to a sane and sustainable way of living. Even if it were to end now the effects of our degraded environment will continue to harm humans and non-humans for a very long time.
Notice how when those in control increase their control, in other words make money, by destroying or taking the lives of people living in traditional communities that it is called production.
Also notice that when the stolen property in possession of those in control is threatened by the dispossessed survivors, they may be killed or their lives destroyed in the name of justice.
This is just one example of how they twist words to produce the logic they need to rationalize their insane behavior.
The proof of their intent is in their actions and the consequences.
Sing out for peace now.
The longer we wait for peace the more suffering and death the world will endure. If it has not touched you yet it soon will.
When the insight for the need for peace arrives in your consciousness will you welcome it or fight against it?
By your actions you will be able to gauge your sanity.

I believe we need to work towards peace in as many ways as we can think of. The worlds’ view of the USA after eight years of naked greed and buffoonery needs to be altered.
We have to export what’s great about America, what’s best about her people, that spirit of tolerance and giving that I know is there. That’s how you build nations and grow democracy, by example, not force.
We live in a paradise while most of the world struggles for basics like water and shelter. It’s easy for extremists to provoke decent people to hate us if we are arrogant and seem undeserving of our bounty.
As citizens of the world we must offer our help and become once more a nation and a people that others wish to emulate, rather than destroy.

Dear Willie: Glad I found you, Finally. I have a solution for the unwanted horses. However, only you have the contacts to get it before Congress to make it work. Before I tell you though, let me warn everyone out there that writing to your Senators and Congressmen does no good. The two week process of de-contaminating your letters (Anthrax) pretty much destroys their content and renders them illegible. Therefore, call the respective office you want and ask for the Animal Rights Representative and pester their Voice Mail until you get a call back, then voice your demand on how you want that Congressman or Senator to vote. If they have a place to E-mail, then hit it too.
Now to the solution. Horses have been used to heal people for a long, long time. Trying to get people not to over breed or telling people not to break them down in racing or in cruel training procedures is like talking to a drunk. Don’t try telling a thoroughbred breeder not to start breaking a yearling because he has to get that horse on the track at age two. Never mind the damage it does. It is HIS economics. Blame the IRS. Anytime you mix money with horses, the horse loses. In the meantime, we need to save these horses before another session on Congress adjourns. We need to hand them a viable solution. THERE IS A TEMPLATE ALREADY THERE! The prison system. In Marion County Florida, In Lexington, Kentucky, at the Sheriff’s Boys Ranches in Florida. There are many, many more all over the U.S. How many of you know of the therapeutic riding programs that have healed an Autistic Child? Inner city children have been turned around miraculously by the horse programs at the Sheriff’s boys ranches in Florida. The Warden at San Quentin was on one of the T.V. morning shows stating that there is not enough prison reform and that he was willing to try anything to stop the recidivism of his inmates. He has them doing yoga and he says it has decreased their anger issues. Churchill said, “The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man”. All of us horse lovers know this. As a retired psychologist, let me assure you, a human being that has been abused by another human being has lost most of his empathy towards others, however, I have seen them protect a cat with their own life. They can relate to the big brown eyed horse, especially one that is brought to them that is so in need of care. Think of a lifer that has no hope, and put them with a horse that can never be ridden, that has been broken down from training and needs such special care, and you will see a better prisoner, and a calmer prison society. Prison Reform, all from the eyes of a horse. WILLIE, ARE YOU THERE? I know you can relate to this. I have no way to get to Bo, or to Paul Sorvino, or the important politicians, but pass the word on, it could give the politicians a way out. The TEMPLATE IS THERE. The Secretariat Program is already in place and successful at the prison in Lexington. Please, there is no time. NO MORE MEXICO. NO MORE FREEZING IN CANADA. PLEASE. CAROLYN in OCALA AREA
