Phil Baril uses his version of “A Peaceful Solution” to support a visual historical peace ballad. In addition to his developed talent and high production values he adds a sensibility of the recent roots of the Greater Peace Movement.
It is important to recognize that as long as the Greater Peace Movement hooks on to charismatic leadership, that charismatic peace leadership becomes a liability to their personal survival. It seems those who advocate violence and oppression to serve their ends possess no inhibition to using violence and oppression upon those opposed to their methods and ends.
We cannot wait for a hero to appear.
Each of us who believes in peace must stand up and link arms with each other. Together we can become a unified voice that cannot be ignored. To live in peace with those around us, including all life forms, disarms, disables and dissolves the will of those using violence and aggression.
This will work because those who use violence and aggression do not themselves implement the destruction. They cleverly maneuver us into harassing and fighting each other.
You do not see our leaders riding around shooting guns in Iraq or Afghanistan.
You know who does the dirty work. We do. And you know who takes the risks. We do. And you know who pays the price. We do.
Whatever lies they tell our boys and girls in harms way to get them out there dying and becoming disabled to the benefit of multinational corporate profits must be compulsively irresistible.
It does not come as a surprise that these masters of manipulation have induced so many into seemingly hypnotic ideational trances. After all, they have taken over our government and we just let them keep it.
In the East it’s been 2500 years since the Buddha taught the way of peace. In the West it’s been two thousand years since the son of a carpenter and twelve others open to new ideas put forth the proposition that we can live in peace with each other. Since these times the movement has been slowly gathering adherents in the face of ruthless opposition.
The idea of peace spread.
The idea of peace has survived the reification of living spirituality into religion. The idea of peace has survived empires, genocide and ethnic cleansing. The idea of peace has survived the mindless torture and pointless death of uncounted millions of people.
The idea of peace survives because it is made of the same stuff as love and truth. Like love and truth, nothing can destroy the peace you can hold in your heart. With love, truth and peace we can change the world.

At first, I got to admit that I participated in this project for pure musical ambition. However, like everyone who worked on it; peace has an important place in my heart and the whole idea of the Willie Nelson PRI’s cause, should be a dream to share among all people around the globe.
No matter what religion, race or country we are living, there is still hope today for a peaceful solution.
Wars happen since the very first day of human being and for that reason, some people seem to lose faith and I can understand that. But the only way to get rid of those wars is not to be opposed to them; it is actually by supporting people suffering from them.
Once we get on this way, roads to peace seem so more numerous. A good and simple thing to do is giving funds to the Red Cross. It helps a lot and sometimes, it makes all the difference. But we know that is not enough.
Preventing a conflict can be difficult, but it is sure easier than stopping it. So when we get that peace revolution happening, there’s nothing and truly nothing that will stop a movement for the good of all citizens.
We all know people invaded by hatred but we also know at least five people for each of them that will “fight” for the good reasons. We sometime hear that peace will never happen, however, we know that all dreams fed by hope may happen.
Believing will lead us where we want to.
