Quanah Parker adopted the peyote religion after being gored in southern Texas by a bull. To fight an onset of blood burning fever, a Mexican curandera was summoned and she prepared a strong peyote tea from fresh peyote to heal him.
Parker taught that the sacred peyote medicine was the sacrament given to the Indian Peoples. Parker’s most famous teaching regarding the Spirituality of the Native American Church:
The White Man goes into his church and talks about Jesus.
The Indian goes into his Tipi and talks with Jesus.
The modern reservation era in Native American history began with the virtually universal adoption of the Native American Church and Christianity by almost every Native American Tribe and Culture within North American, partly as a result of Parker’s efforts.
Under Parker’s leadership, peyote became an important item of trade. This, combined with his Church movement and political and financial contacts, garnered Parker enormous wealth during his lifetime.
Quanah Parker the Comanche Indian Chief who founded the Native American Church, among other things….

A Peaceful Solution
(Quanah’s Song …the eagle version)
Written by:
Willie Nelson, Amy Nelson, Nick Giles
The eagle flapped his wings
‘caused a shudder in the breeze
now, let’s take back America
the word came from up high
sparked a glimmer in the eye
said,
take back America
from the mountains to the sea
is the ever-flowing stream
now, let’s take back America
It’s a dream so believe it
Now get ready to receive it
And let’s take back America
He fought the ways of war
Then, he fought them some more
now, let’s take back America
there is a peaceful solution
it’s called a peace revolution
now, let’s take back America
it’s time to end the fight
we can still get it right
and take back America
you know, the birds overhead
and the fish in the beds
want to
take back America
and now the door is open
and the eagle is “a-hope-in”
that we take back America
so-do unto others
as you’d have them do to you
that’s how we’ll
take back America
when you really hear those words
and throw away the swords
we can take back America
so now the child is grown
and wants to come back home
to take back America
so, awaken to the dawn
sing this little song
and let’s take back America
there is a peaceful solution
and a peaceful revolution
and the peaceful solution saved America

Energy surrounds us in all of its expressive forms. It emanates from the sun. It cycles through the air. It is stored in the earth. It is absorbed through plants and animals, and it flows through water. Energy can be used as a creative force, and it can be used as a destructive force. Wars are fought over the control of the Earth’s natural resources. Politics is ultimately about who gains the privilege of controlling the earth’s resources and how those resources are distributed. In a capitalist economy, government should act as a buffer between the pursuit for privately held profit and the protection of the Earth’s resources.
The oil and fossil fuel solution to our energy needs has served us well, but as everyone knows, this finite resource is nearing its end and now presents a greater problem than a solution. As we enter the 21st Century, “a peaceful solution” to our energy needs exists literally on the horizon. The trick is learning how to tap into the numerous renewable energy sources and transform those sources into usable energy to meet the demands of our modern lifestyle.
The implementation of “green technologies” to meet our energy demands will create an entirely new economy. From research and development, to the manufacturing and installation of green technologies, to entrepreneurship and invention, the prospects for a thriving, exciting future are truly limitless. A green based economy is not a radical left-wing idea, it is a realistic solution to the world’s energy demands. Environmentalism is actually a conservative idea. It is about conserving our natural resources. It is about conserving and focusing our time and energy. It is about conserving our lands, and it is about creating a solution that does not waste one of our most precious natural resources, our children.
Finally, let us not forget about one of the most gratifying gifts of being alive. It is simultaneously one of our most basic and sophisticated desires- the pursuit of happiness and the creation of joy. The creation of joy is the percolating desire of a mature consciousness. It is the reason we were given the gift of life in the first place- to create some joy and explore this incredible experience of being alive on Planet Earth.
May your soul be at peace, may your heart be filled with love, may your mind be free, and may your body be at ease.
