Each one of us determines whether we live in a peaceful world or one of continual strife. Once we make the decision to practice love no matter what others are doing the world will transform by our actions.

We begin at home. We begin by loving ourselves. If we don’t love ourselves, how can we possibly love another? When I say love ourselves I’m not talking about narcissism but a healthy respect, a caring, an ability and desire to nourish and protect ourselves. Once we are able to care for ourselves we are in a position to reach out and help someone else.

Love can be a daily practice. If we allow love to become a way of life with repeated practice our thoughts, words and actions from a feeling of love will be as natural as breathing. Our demonstration of love emanates from us independent of another’s actions. Treating others with care, love, tenderness and kindness is a way to bring peace to all beings.

We need not wait for someone else to demonstrate love before we begin. We each can agree to take responsibility as members of this global community to express love in our daily lives. Love is the most peaceful means we can practice to achieve our goal of global peace. We don’t have to die to go to heaven we can create heaven right now by opening our hearts and letting love flow.

Life is a miracle. Honoring all life reveals the peace that already exists. Do you feel love is a way to peace?
