Willie Nelson Sings Midnight Rider
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
I’ve already posted an article about Willie’s adoption of these horses.
Yesterday I posted an article alerting all readers to the new threat such wonderful animals face thanks to our national government.
Maybe you don’t care. Maybe you don’t see how this could possibly affect you. Maybe you are just numb to what is happening.
I hate to think what that would mean.
If you don’t care, then what could you care about?
If you think this doesn’t affect you, then how close to home does the Farm Bill have to strike before you realize that this affects everyone in the United States?
If you have gone numb, then there is nothing else to say.
Enjoy Willie Nelson’s performance of this Gregg Allman song. Listen to the reach of his voice and the emotion he puts into it. Allow yourself to be moved.
These horses need your help. This country needs your help. This world needs your help.
Together we can make a difference. You don’t have to stand up by yourself. There are already many other people in this country and around the world who are insisting on meaningful change.
Just do your part.
Please don’t let yourself go numb.
Well, I’ve got to run to keep from hiding,
And I’m bound to keep on riding.
And I’ve got one more silver dollar,
But I’m not gonna let them catch me, no,
Not gonna let ‘em catch the Midnight Rider.
And I don’t own the clothes I’m wearing,
And the road goes on forever,
And I’ve got one more silver dollar,
But I’m not gonna let them catch me, no
Not gonna let ‘em catch the Midnight Rider.
And I’ve gone by the point of caring,
Some old bed I’ll soon be sharing,
And I’ve got one more silver dollar,
(Repeat three times and Fade)
But I’m not gonna let ‘em catch me, no
Not gonna let them catch the Midnight Rider.
